Tile Guys... need some help!

Dent repair kits........

Current daily driver 90 Civic 185K replaced distributor and alt.

93 in sig has 257K never been past the valve covers, still has the stock auto.

Before the 93 I had an 89 Cherokee (4. 0 liter 5 speed), 200K beat to death wheelin on 35s replaced a cam when I bought it (@60K)because of po not changing oil enough, and a water pump. All the other breakage was my fault, alternators don't like running in mud etc... .

Just bought my wife a 99 Taurus and it has an amazing 28K on it (bought it with 23K) :)

201k on my 95 CTD, 159k on my wife's 98 Blazer. My wife's previous car was a 90 Pontiac Grand Prix which had 198k when we traded. That was a great car. I had a full size 91 blazer before I got my cummins that had 148k when I sold it to my neighbor. It has 250k and still looks like it did the day I sold it. Showroom clean.

I have a '55 vw bug that is on its third time around on the ODO.

I drove PLENTY of old UPS trucks in my 30 year career. One '85 P500('85 GMC 1 ton chassis 292 6cyl) had 630,000 miles on it and wasn't slated for the crusher for another 2 years. They keep those package cars an average of 25 years. Imagine keeping a truck that gets the s#!t pounded out of it everyday for 25 years!!!

Makes me appreciate my pickup with 85,000 mi!

Not to poke fun - but

I Have An 82 Gmc 6. 2l Diesel 1500 Pick-up That Has Over 300,k On It But My Speedo Cable Broke At 298,000. Still Starts And Runs Strong. Looks Like Hell Though.

Having driven a bunch of 6. 2's - I wouldn't describe them as strong - which I mean as lots of get up and go... ... which they never had...

It also shows hoe stupid one is for trading when we can - this should be an example--these guys don't keep them because they're costing them $$$$

i agree with you there it is a pig to get moving. i was implying that the engine still runs good.

'96 Chevy Lumina with 176k is on its second life as a university car--the one they take to pick up groceries and snacks. I finally changed the transmission fluid at 173k after it started sounding like an old power glide. The whine then slowly went away!. It seems to be doing fine with the only mechanical problems requiring repair are the intake gasket ,water pump, alternator and a new fuel tank. I do my part to keep good tires and brakes on her,and the lack of parking facilities just add more character lines to the body work

When I got my truck I traded my old Mercedes with my fathers 94 Mercedes 250 diesel with 486 000 miles on the ticker. It still runs strong and are in a mechanical good shape, but the body are infested. It's almost worthless with this milage so I decided to keep it around.

I also have a 56 Chrysler Windsor that my grandfather bought new. It have more than 370 000 miles on it, kind of lost track somewhere in the 70's :) Still runs, but compression are not what it was.

Did I mention we like to hold on to our cars in our family?

My Brother has a 91 CTD that has over 315K on it, dont know the exact milage b/c the speedo/odo stopped working over 2 yrs ago. This truck has had a 100 gal diesel tank in the bed since it was bought and is the definition of a work truck. I had a 97 1500 that had 167K when I sold it to my brother and it now has 195K and its still going strong(after a few trannies). We tend to hold onto 4x4 trucks!

292k on my truck. Replaced the front seal, trac bar, tie rod end, belt tensioner, alternator brushes, starter contacts u-joints, one side ball joints and front axle u-joint and the trans a few times. The first one died at 128k (it hauled a steel stock trailer before I got it), the second one I replaced at about 260k (Goerend Brothers). That one broke a planetary gear on the dyno a year later and Dave G. covered it.

The other side front axle u-joint and ball joints and another tie rod are going in this weekend.

I've also got a '78 T/A with 94k on it and an old Volvo 142 (set up for pro ralley) with 242k on it.

I had a 95 Saturn that I used to drive back and froth from college that almost had 300k on it when the transmission finally gave the ghost.

Sold a 1985 Chevy Caprice Classic. 305 4bbl, 4 speed auto with 253 thousand Amsoil miles. Timing chain at 225k(plastic gear came apart) one set of valve stem seals, two water pumps, two alts. one ac compresser, two vinal tops and two paint jobs. Still ran good and got 25 mpg hwy mpg at 70 with cruise on. Use to see it once in a while go by the house.
