If it does so happen to have a #53 block, should I start looking else where for a truck or buy this one regardless? I don't want to be blowing this out of proportion, but I also don't want a truck that could have severe problems in the future.

I am gonna try to get the price down because he said the clutch will slip, and I will be doing a lot of towing, and also if its not a H/O, I feel the price should decrease as well.

Just an FYI for your bargaining purposes. I paid $28,500 for my 2002 3500RC 4x4 HO 6 speed (new) 6 months ago. I know that QC's cost more than RC's but I also traded in a 2000 3500QC 4x4 SO automatic with everything but leather on it for $23,000 and it had 53K miles on it. I would think if this truck is in good shape with the slipping clutch that $24,000 would be a good price. Hope you get a good truck.
