Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) High Output VP44 Injection Pump????

I have access to a 2002 High Output injection pump. Will it retro-fit onto a 1999 standard engine? And if so, will there be any benefit to the swap, other than the fact the '99 has a bad injection pump now?

It won't work that well. Diesel Dynamics tried that scenario, thats why they modified both respective pumps for a major hp gain (40 ETC & 70 ETH).
