Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) high pitched warbling noise above 9lb boost

Yesterday I was towing pretty heavy and I started to get a loud warbling whine anytime I go above 9lb of boost. I'm hoping it's not the turbo but .....



Any ideas on what to look at?

Once I got a squeel at 10psi boost and when I checked it was a boot comming off and squeeling like when you blow across a balloon or blade of grass.

Check your boots.

problem solved

went back to the drawing board..... Cleaned the BHAF - no change but it sure looks pretty now.



looked at every change I had made in the last few weeks:



Installed Kore Chase system

oil change

rotated tire

bought Wet Okole seat covers



and



oh yeah, removed the useless old fuel filter assembly that hasn't been attached since the FASS was installed a year ago. I wonder if that could be it???



Nah, can't be because I removed the assembly 2 months ago. Well, let's try to put it back on and see what happens.



DAMN! problem went away I guess that those 2 bolts are needed even if the whole assembly isn't. I also guess that it took a couple of months for the boost to figure out where the hole was... :-laf
