Yesterday while idling, my Truck came to an abrupt Stop. Had it towed into the dealership and turns out my Injector Pump has died.

Has anyone else had this problem?

 Uh-oh. Please keep us updated on this. I'm interested in whether I need to start monitoring lift pump pressure to prevent premature injection pump failure.

How many miles on your engine?

Mine hit 3,517 miles and the idler pulley bolt let go leaving me stranded on the way to work. This happened Wednesday at 2 pm CST and still no parts at the dealer to fix this truck.

DC service... ... ..... your better off at Pep Boys than at a DC dealership.

I have just under 20,000 miles (31696 kms)

Ya, who knows how long I will wait for parts? They gave me a Caravan for the weekend, but I told them they better have something that was a 4x4 with a least 6 feet of bed for tuesday if mine is not fixed! This truck is my Bread and Butter..... No Truck, Can't work, no Money!

Its just a high pressure pump. There is no injection pump. The injection event and pressurisation have been seperated. It makes it easier to have multiple injections.

I would think that it is much cheaper than an injection pump because it will be far less intricate. A high pressure oil pump can be had for less than 400 dollars. Granted its not making 23000 psi.

Transfer Pump Trouble

Forgot I posted this Problem.

Turns out after bending a few ears that is wasn't the high pressure pump... . it was the transfer pump that quit.

Me and a couple others where all in for the same problem... . is this common on the 3rd G's?

cheers

Looks like it's time to start monitoring LIFT PUMP pressures.....

AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I was through with this when I traded in the 99.....

Guess I'll order another gauge. :(
