Help.....

I am experiencing a high rpm stumble/misfire/ loss of power at 2500 RPM's and above. this vehicle has never had a box on it ever. it has 275's and a boost mod. the lift pump was replaced a weeks ago by the dealer, low pressure. this vehicle is running treated #2 summer blend. there are no codes present. is this typical of a vp44 on it's way out or fuel jelling? vehicle in question was manufactered in 98 as a 99 model yr. 40k miles all response are welcome.

Your problem could also be a clogged fuel filter. Check the pressures pre and post filter. Any more than a 5 PSI difference means that the filter is clogged, I change mine at 3 PSI difference. If you don't have the guages to check your fuel pressures throw another filter in it and try that. You really should look into getting a setup to check your fuel pressure regularly if you don't put in a full time fuel pressure guage. Your problem definately sounds like the engine is starving for fuel. Lift pump, filter, and ice are all likely candidates. Hope this helps.

High RPM Stumble

Heliopilot,

I added a boost module to compliment my Phase II injectors and I immdiately noticed a high rpm stumble like you mentioned and also a loss in power. I took the module off and the truck ran better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating leaving the wastegate stock. I'm going to let an EZ box (w/ elbow) take care of my boost issues. Maybe the module is faulty?
