Competition 6th Win of the Year!!!

Competition 9.98 Pro Street Pass.......

Got my new Pro Street 66 charger from HTT last week.

HTT lists the SP66 like this:

HTB2/66 (+400 HP) - 550-625 HP 1225 ft. lbs. torque (SLED PULLER 66)

The Pro Street is listed as:

“Pro Street 66” +450 HP - 575-675 HP 1350 ft. lbs. torque

Here are some comparison pictures:

The MAIN difference, 71mm turbine wheel, vs 64mm on the SP66

New easier to adjust wastegate actuator.

I'll let you know how I like the new charger once I get the drivetrain back under the truck... . Its just not the same putting a charger on and only being able to rev the engine :{ :-laf :-laf

how long where you sucking in soot before you shut the truck down?

Well, it wasn't MASSIVE, and the intake was filtered with what you guys call a BHAF. It was leaking enough though. .

Only went on for about a day or 2 though.

let us know what you think of it when you get it up and running

I know i need a little more turbo to clean up the fuel from the 6's and to cool the EGT's a little

I can c y now the sp66 surges

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm not a fan of clipping the turbine wheel either. Any way you slice it, it's still a waste of exhaust energy.

I never had any surging issues once I took my TAG 3 out.

I love this new charger! Is a pleasure to drive on the street, much better than the SP66 in my opinion, believe it or not.

EGTs are lower as well.

I reccomend this upgrade to anyone.

It does not surge at all, and won't even bark going into overdrive (if one forgets to lock it out).

The only time I was able to get it to bark was when I locked it up and let it go into overdrive at a little bit too low RPM.

The Pro Street 66 performs very well during daily driving, I have had no surge or bark problems. EGTs are controlled well at high power, also.

Any further reports?

I talked to HTT ay INDY about sending in my SP66 to become a Prostreet 66 and want to make sure this turbo is still performing to the good comments

Well that is the tightest convertor Goerend makes. I have a looser one sitting in the garage. I am trying to make it through the season before I drop the transmission. With no boost the convertor stalls about 1300. I leave the line about 2K. I hate to pull the convertor because that transmission is such a treat to drive on the street:). What is funny about that story is some guy sitting beside my dad at the pull said" this guy will be lucky to get it 50 ft" My dad suggested at least 275. Well 304' only full pull of the night, nearest was 294' third was 287'.

Why the frown anyway? It is a good charger, I have had several chargers on the truck. Once I get to about 13 psi, the boost gage looks like a tach :D
