Took my 3500 with 26 foot gooseneck flatbed to a well known tire dealer for eight new trailer tires today. Tires look great, but unbeknownst to me they took the trailer off to do the work and some yo-yo didn't put the latch pin back in(Found it later laying in the bed with it's keeper pin inserted)nor attach the safety chain. I drove about 7 miles before WHAM,the trailer came off!The goose neck caught the tailgate bent it in half and ripped the hinge pins right off. The tailgate check cables held though and I was able to pull that 3000 lb trailer 200 feet,to get off the highway, with those two 1/8 inch cables. So even if Dodge can't make good brakes or fuel tank senders they at least make good tailgate cables. Tire dealer says he'll pay, lucky it wasn't much, much worse.
