What would cause higher EGTs after exhaust brake install? Does the butterfly valve cause enough of a restriction to create a increase in EGTs? How about the 60# exhaust springs? Would a 4 inch exhaust help? Any one else run up agaist this problem?

Thanks

I know of no reason for higher egt's just with the brake install. Normal for temps to be higher at idle if the brake is on. No restriction from the valve.

60# springs are a must on the exhaust valves. Keeps the valves closed and prevents them from contacting the pistons during braking.

Have used mine for 100k with no problems.
