I did a 1/4 mile time today with my PMCR on level 7X7.

Normally I will never run the HP over 6 because the truck will start to stick valves. I did it this one and only time just to see what it would do.

Now I know the Xmonitor has a reputation of being off, but when I went through the tattletale function my EGT recorded 1969*, That is the hottest I have ever seen. I have seen 1800* a couple times, but never in the 1900's.

Just wanted to post that and get some reaction :--)

I guess I should go try to scrape some of the aluminum that used to be my piston out of my tail pipe

1900 ***** degrees????? :--) :--) :--)

U nuts? :-laf :-laf :-laf Wonder how long that temperature existed in the chamber..... either way the pistons have been burned. hard to say how much unless you do a teardown.

:D But sweeeeeet. Oo. At least it isnt my truck. :p What are you cranking out for HP and Torque numbers?

FYI... melting point of aluminum is 1220* F :-laf

Jeff.

ouch man that burned just reading it you must be ready to do a teardown it's like doing a big burnout on the way to the tire shop to get some new treads

I'm not quite ready to do a teardown. I just decided one time I was going to close my eyes and finish the 1/4. I'll never do it again thats for sure. Kyle I need to talk to you about some parts.

I only had a 15sec@88mph time on that run. The night before when I ran it on level 6/7 I ran a 14. 6@94mph.

Those aren't too bad of times considering I'm running them on 37inch tires.

I'm actuallly going to put the originals back on this weekend and make a run on stock tires to see what I can turn.

One things for sure, 6inches of lift on stock wheels and tires will be awful fugly  :D

Melting point of 1200 and his 1900 are two different things. You have to remember, the piston is cooled during the intake portion of the cycle as cooler air is blown into the chamber, not to mention the oil spray on the bottom of the piston and the heat that is drawn away from the piston from the piston rings. .

Still, I'm sure that motor is a ticking time bomb, its only a matter of time.

I saw 1600º+ at the strip too. Ran a 15. 1. Can't remember the mph. I actually let off at the end because it scared me. I've paid for one motor out of my pocket, don't need to buy another one. TST on 8/5. Went with more hp then torque. 6" lift on 35"s. 4:10's. I do want to go back and do it again with stock tires. I'm with you on looking ugly. Mybe this time I'll try 7/4

I agree with the time bomb. All I can tell you is I saw 1550 and one piston distorted at the top ring, I can't tell you how long it was up there before I noticed it but that's playing with fire!
