Competition 12V blocks differences.....what are they!

Competition HEY DHRA whats the word on the TRUCK JAM

Any idea who's got it? It seems like most of the big 24V numbers are coming either with drugs, an ETC, or both.



How far can the weenie HO pump go on just #2? I assume twins... .

How many of these big-power trucks you guys are talking about have the stock HO pump? Prior to this, I'd always heard ~550 to be a practical limit on #2 only with the HO pump. ??

01_HO was shooting nitrous on that run. I also believe it may have been with a Hot Rod VP, not a stock HO VP.



Ray Gullet has dyno-ed 604 on diesel only with a redline box. But again I believe that was with a Hot Rod VP as well.



Both of them were single charger trucks running J. R. Adkins' injectors.

Are you sure it was no drugs.

I thought the VP could only put out so much fuel???

700 sounds kinda high without drugs or a P7100??

But hey, I could be wrong. I would love to get 700 out of mine with good ole #2 if thats possible on a VP...

Thus, the reason for my lead post. Maybe we didn't understand-- NO DRUGS, JUST #2, AND A BONE STOCK HO PUMP.



Now that we've established the criteria, maybe someone will chime in?



I, too, have always been told that the HO pump is only good to about 550hp... . Maybe another 30-50 from twins.

Hopefully, I'll have a number for you by January, Hohn. I've got Mach 6's sitting at home and will be ordering a new hybrid turbo from JR in a month or so :). Should put me at at least 550, I hope :).

I've talked with Don about this, and he doesn't really see a point to anything over a mach 3. 7 or so with a stock HO pump. He says that you'll get more smoke and heat, but not much more power.



Chris, I'm really interested in your Mach 6 test. I have no idea how much fuel an HO VP can deliver, or if it's got enough plunger to push fuel to mach 6s.



Let me know after the holidays what you find out.

I made 651 hp and 1287 ft lbs torque on #2 only at Dyno-Mite diesel Performance in Monroe Washington with the original VP44 :D

Yeah, I'll have the money set aside to swap in an SO pump, as well, should it become necessary :-laf .

What do you mean by rare???

I have a buddy that his truck is a 1999 ETH HO 6 speed. The truck has a grey valve cover.

I thought the 6 speed was first introduced in 2000/2001???

It doesn't look like it has had a swap either...
