Got a chance to make 2 runs on our dyno friday afternoon. Al ran the dyno and I pushed the go peddle.

1st run 344hp and 2nd run 346hp in 83 deg weather. No torque readings as it was just a fast jump on, jump off at the end of the day. Truck never hit higher than 1250* which was impressive.

Still running the used, unmodified POD's and haven't done any fine tuning or adjusting on the dyno, just added a used PDR HX40 and everyday settings as I drive my truck daily. Could gain alittle if I were to change out the pushed out exhaust gaskets that are hurting exhaust flow, as the old 92 shop engine has 350k on the old girl.

Still need to put in some custom inj's for more fuel and see what she is capable of. ;)

Joe - Yep, Old Smoky made 450 on Bully Dogs dyno with a set of Don M injectors and the origional VE pump that I have played with.

Mark - I'm looking forward to seeing your numbers after you have done some more tuning. :D

Mike

Mark!

Great numbers!!! What's next -we've seen 450 so who's going for 500 - I guess it's not who but when. How about Diesel Thunder. From what I hear you wont be there Mark - we will miss you this year.

Mike

You said you need more air - you might want to look at what I've done in the breathing department. When I dynoed 300 in Meridian I was only at about 950 pre-turbo with the DD3+'s. Anyway I will see you before the end of July.

Bob

Mark,

Good job. Is that the same project I had talked to you about in Feb or so? I will probably try to get a 2nd gen intercooler from a junkyard. One in Kennet supposedly gets in a lot of diesels.

Mike-

Well, guess that answers my question about 400rwhp. That is with the VE, right? Figured so. How is smoke, daily drivability, EGTs? Done any towing? I'd like to be able to tow, though probably never will. But, I need to work some more, and get some bills paid down. Hectic month- fiancee and I split up, moving, job hunting, etc.

No its not the project that we talked about. That one has been on hold until some special parts come in. Been waiting since Jan. Can't wait to put everything together.

Been getting bored. A little restless you could say, with all the waiting. I haven't played with my truck and the old 1 st gen motor in awhile so I just put on the hx40. No tuning/tweeking for a long time. Just drove it on the dyno.

Mike,

Any time. You know your welcome to stay at my place again.

Mark

Good numbers Mark. I'm falling so far behind I wonder if I'll ever catch you guys. I guess I could turn in the power screw till the threads go behind the lock coller. What the deal with Don M injectors? Do they smoke like PODs? Smoke at WFO is ok, smoke at an idle is not.

Once again, good going Mark.

Are you making those 2nd gen guys nervous?

Dave

Hey Rick,

I know what you mean... every time I think I'm sneaking up on him from behind... . wooosh. . off he goes again... . and now Old Smoky, the booger, were will it all end..... :D:D:D

Pastor Bob.

"Our Lady Of Acceleration Church"... . ;)

Yea I read old smokys post also, but i'm trying to pretend like i did'nt see it... ... ... ... . :-laf

Rick

Awe common guys. It's just air, fuel, compression, and timing. And when you think about it, our investment is quite minimal compared to 24 valves. Especially if you can do some of your own work. We have a lot of 'free' horsepower. A few hours of tuning can go along way. :D

Mike

Mike, you Definitely have done a damn fine job of tuning that truck, 400+ hp who'd a thunk it a year ago,

Still testing those fuel pins ???? ;)

Good Job ,

Rick

Thanks, Rick. The fuel pins are basically done. I have come up with one that does everything I want it to. Another member is testing it right now. I am trying to decide where I want to go with this now. I will let everyone know in the 'Product/Accessory' forum when the time comes.

Mike

hey old smokey im debating taking apart my stock injectors and putting the tops onto my 370's to try themin my '89 but honed pods sound nice especially with your set up. . my problem is originally i was going to use twins... the stock h1c and a hx55 from a m11 . . i might still use them, i was even thinking of just the hx55. . mummn with my 3spd auto it might work well as i have to really rev the engine to get any where... im afraid of the lag. . the hx55 has a22cm housing on it. . etc i'm also fitting a second gen intercooler, what do you think. . can you contact me about your injectors and any suggestions with them?

thanks

Deo
