I had a pretty good jag loaded in the box after cleaning out my son's garage. He's headed over to Iraq to keep the Hummers running for the troops. Yeah, butterflies in my stomach over it too.

Anyway, on the way home I hit a water dip in an intersection that I forgot was there at about 40 and the front suspension bottomed out all the way to the rubber bumpers. Shocks must be okay, as it never did a rebound bounce, just leveled out and went on.

But, when I pushed on the go peddle to keep traveling, I thought the transmission broke :( and then looked down and the trans indicator was in neutral.

Now my knees don't get anywhere near the gear selector so I didn't bump it. Seems to me, something did a lot of flexing.

Any ideas out there or have you had this happen?

John;

You probably hit the gear selector with your hand and didn't realize it. You must be a couple inches taller than before, save a little money on goin to the bone crusher.

Marv.

I think you must be right Marv :D

The truck started spitting and sputtering immediately after that. crawled home at about 25 mph and really wondering if I was killing the VP-44 :(

Pulled that fuel pressure guage out of the box where it has been for about 60 days and screwed it in. 2# on idle. Yeck!

Today, I pulled the fuel filter. It was a black dirty mess and plugged solid. New one in, purging routine, and then it started up kind of ragged. Then had to tighten 1, 3, & 5 injector lines and it smoothed out.

haven't drove it anywhere yet, but I think it is alright again.
