I've got a big dent and hole in the side of my snowmachine (snowmobile to the lower 48 folks). Only way that could have happened was when I had it on the trailer and I stopped at the store. I'd sure love to find who did it.

People that hit and run should be hit and run over I think.

Nah, assignment to a road clean up crew is better, they at least get a few bags of trash off the interstates before another "hit and runner" plows them into the ground, then you get that idiot out there for the next day, and so on. It would eventually solve the problem of litter as well. Hmmm

Happy Thanksgiving

Hit and Run

Just dropped my truck off at the body shop today gonna pull the dent on the box side and repaint it, I'll sure miss my truck for the time its down. :{

I bet his car was impounded and he was merely charged a "drunk tax" to get it back the folowing week. I have yet to see a court or law that does anything to stop these maggots from screwing up others lives and property that's effective and lasts. No wonder our uninsured motorist rates are so high!!

You oughta come to PA. They just sentenced a few here last month to 9-12 months in the pokey for the 2nd DUI stop. The first offense can be wiped off the record, if the BAC was . 08 to . 12, and the offender jumps through a bunch of hoops such as 200 hrs of community service, and an ARD (accelerated rehabilitative development) program and pays BIG fines. I agree with that... everyone makes mistakes, and deserves a second chance. Over . 12 or second offense... DON'T DROP THE SOAP!!!

You can even get a DUI if you let someone drive your vehicle who is drunk.

The DA made an example of a 17 year old girl a couple years back. She was DUI, and her best friend was killed in the accident. She was a class officer, extremely intelligent, beautiful girl, the whole nine yards, now she's in a State Prison for 7-10 years, the rest of her life ruined because of one night of carelessness. The other girl's family didn't even want to press charges, but the State said it wasn't up to them... what a sick situation.

The drunk driving situation has improved greatly around the area. People are finally realizing that it's just not worth it. I generally am the DD when my friends and I go out. If I'm not out with them, EVERYONE knows they can call me at any time and I'll come get them. All of the bars that my friends and I go to have my number, to shag me outta bed if a friend needs help. I'd much rather lose a little sleep than lose a friend.

Thats even hard to tell if it was a smaller vehicle or another truck, that really sucks!! I would for sure make sure police report was done and then check to see what color of paint other than white is on the front area, and i would for sure start periodically checking the neighborhood, they say most accidents occur within a mile of home.

I think it would have to be a fairly heavy vehicle to push that truck 5 feet backwards but who knows. Hope they get her fixed back for you and your lucky enought to catch the little SH** that did it...

Looks like a truck with some type of brushguard could have done it. That vertical crease and what looks like a little black paint makes it appear that way to me. Maybe a smaller truck like a Ranger or Dakota or S-10.

Well, it would be nice to be able to say that all this talk about the scum bags that hit and run has made a difference to me personally, but it hasn't. No, that doesn't mean I'll run if I hit. My point is, if I did the deed, I'd do what is right, regardless of this thread, as I did this evening.

I was parked at a large shopping center this evening in a standard side-by-side, nose-to-nose parking spot. When I went to leave, the spot in front of me was open. So like most, I began to drive through rather than back out. There was a car in the spot to my right but facing me (my right headlight next to their right headlight). Some bozo left a large shopping cart between us right at our headlights. In the dark (not a well lit parking area) I didn't even see the cart. As I started forward I heard a nasty bump-a-thump. Sure enough, the cart had caught my wheel and twisted up between us. Bent up my fender in 3 spots above the wheel and put a dent in the edge of the hood! On the little Daewoo, it put a single deep dent in the fender about 6 inches across just behind the headlight. I figure it will be $800 to $1000 to fix mine. Maybe 2 or 3 hundred for the Daewoo. :{

I left a note with my name and number. Just waiting for the call. I'm not having a good day. :(

Went by the bodyshop today to get my cellphone charger out of the overhead storage. Checked on the progress (of course) and so far it looks good! Right fender has been repainted, and the driver's door, but it still sticks a little when I open and close it. Never did that before. They're waiting on the front bumper components and right headlight. Said it may be ready Tues eve or Wed. Man, I really miss my truck! After driving the wife's Chevy Trailblazer, which isn't a bad vehicle, I have found I really miss being up high in my Ram and the sound of the Cummins under the hood, and the gear shifter in my hand!

On the road again!!

My truck is back in my hands! And it looks great! New entire front OEM bumper, new windshield, and all cleaned up nice and shiny. Drives great, runs great, shifts, brakes and steers fine. I am going to start looking at aftermarket front bumpers and once I decide on the look I want that will be my next mod. On a scale of 1-10, I give the paint a 9. 5 and the bodywork alignment about 7. They had some gaps to correct in the fender/hood/doors areas and finally got most of them worked out. I think the hood got tweaked a bit becasue the curve of the hood over the fender isn't the same. The hood 'bulges' out now in the area over the front tires. But it's one of those small details that not many people would notice.

It was tough being without my Ram for so long. It really makes you realize how great it is to be driving a Cummins powered mo-chine!

Oo.
