Hitch alignment with gooseneck and no back window

As previously posted in the products section, it was reccomended I try here:



Ok... . I just ordered my sleeper from ICT in Indiana, and now I need to find a way to hook up to my gooseneck, now that I will no longer have a back window. Just side mirrors.

I have heard of an electronic Bullseye system, but am unsure if it would work with a goose. I will have a sleeper on the flatbed with a 60 gal tank directly behind it near the gooseneck box, so I don't want to hit the tank with the gooseneck!!!

Ideas???

Mirrors

Try mirrors. I used then to hook up my fiver when I could not see out the rear window on a 4 dr due to a headache rack behind the window. Worked for me. Still use them, makes it easier for me to hook up.

As I recall, your doing this full time and have a flatbed. How about a fixture that sets in the stake pocket or on the rubrail with a mirror mounted at 45 degrees? Line up with your cab mirrors and as you back under the coupler, you could see "around the corner".



Or maybe mount a mirror on an arm or two on the gooseneck that could swing out of the way.



The high tech option would be to mount a video camera focused on the coupler and ball area with a small flat screen monitor in the cab.

After geting help hitching up ,pull foward to straighten up to be sure of alignment ,then on drivers side line up a post ,pole painted block what ever will serve align the rail of the pick up using mirror when pole ,post painted block ect is ligned up center of hitch will be aligned or very close to it . I use this methoed on my 5th wheel I painted a four in wide two in high block on over hang drivers side and use it align with top of rail of pick up. To align first time use a guide . Weld a "V" Shaped piece of plate about 5" high in front of the ball with the opening of the "V" Facing the rear. Just back up until it hits then pull forward an inch or so to drop the neck. Shouldn't interfere with anything... .
