what hitch setup are most running for truck pulling and how well are they doing?I am building a 86 k30 with a 5. 9/nv5600 and plan to make a drawbar setup with the mount point at the front mount for the leaf springs and make adjustable links to the axle for three reasons one to force the axle down and two with the axle twisting with torque lift the drawbar to my advantage and the third to be able to adjust my hitch heights easily. Like a tractor, and push the load insted of pulling it. I have seen a lot of these type of hitches in gas truck pulling, but mount is usually at the center of the rear axle. just looking to see if anybody has tried this and to see if it lays down nice. I see a lot diesel trucks just running a reese type reciver moved foward a few inches.
