Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Hittin' the road

I am taking my '00 on about a 6,000 mile trip from Northern Calif. , to Cape Cod and back. I have never done this before and was wondering what advice some of you more experienced people may have to offer. It has a tad over 80,000 miles and has not given me any major problems, thus far. I've kept up on all the basics including belts, filters, fittings and fluids and plan on bringing a few parts along. I will also be putting in boost and exhaust temp. gauges. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

If you haven't changed out the lift pump or installed an auxillary, I'd do that before you left town.



Check fuel prices by computer as you travel, you'll find w wide range of prices. The west coast, Chicago area and New England are the highest.



I'm also headed to the Cape in October. Have a good trip

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it along with the other 2, a must-have on these things!!! Other than that, drive it!!!
