My truck sounds different on a darn near daily basis. It drives me nuts and someday it actually will be something. Until then I just turn the radio up a little...
If they don't seal well they can miss and some cases will get worse as engine warms up,if it is bad enough I have also seen them set codes.

steved;1897506... not going to worry about it... [/QUOTE said:Good call. Mine makes noises I don't really like, but my oil reports are good, mileage and power are good, so I'm not worrying about it.

I disconnected the FCA and went for a short trip. Never actually moved the truck with that unhooked before. Man that's scary. Doesn't sound good at all. Hooked it back up and it's "normal" again.
I should add that earlier on the way home, I saw 1300* for the first time since installing the Smarty. Usually it's a struggle to hit 1200.
I was shakin' in my boots the whole time it was running. I would highly recommend against it. I don't think it helped me any.running with the fca disconnected is not a good idea... ... ... ... ... that makes rail pressure max out.

Well from the sounds of all the symptoms you listed, id have to say... ... . PUT SOME FUEL IN IT!! Sounds to me like its outta fuel, but I assume you're smarter than that, so I'd think next either the FCA, or CP3 going bye bye.
