Just to let every one know, the HO with auto/48RE WILL be available to order in late december, and will be built on first run of january 6th

A friend of mine who is waiting on a 2003 HO/Auto called me yesterday to tell me the new Autotrans is going to be an Allison. I told him I did not think so but he said he was sure BECAUSE his dealer told him so... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

I WOULD BE NERVOUS ABOUT BUYING AN AUTO transmission IN AN HO BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEAM TO BUILD ONE FOR THE STANDARD CUMMINS

48RE

Went to see my dealer this am about the 48RE and at this time they have no info. They told me DC has been telling them to order more 03 sebrings for stock. Just the other day they read in the NY Times that the 04 sebrings are do out in Feb. As you can see DC does not tell them much. No wonder they do not have any info on the 48RE

Ford owning Cummins

If you check their web sites, neither Ford or Cummins acknowledges any ties with each other. At one time I thought that Cummins was a subsid of Ford and this was at one time noted on their web site. Maybe Ford sold off their stock in Cummins?

48RE

Just can't wait to get my hands on one! Then I'll take it apart and see where it can be made better!:D Also to see what all may be able to be retrofitted into earlier 47RH and 47RE.

We are a menace aren't we? I was transferred by my company to Ks F/ 94 to 99 and to be honest, I dearly miss my friends there. Maybe it was my first taste of southern hospitality but the people there are great. The weather terrific.

And here's a little fodder for you - most of my relatives live in the beautiful state of Arkansas!

If your ever in the neighborhood, stop buy and I'll wash your truck while you drink my beer! :)

needless to say,

Everyone here will be the first to know when one hits my lot

and it will be a 4-spd as far as we know, NOT an allison

As many of you know, I have purchased an 03' 2500 Laramie HO. I also ordered and received the CD ROM Repair Manuel. In looking at the transmissions within, the 48RE is a 4-speed, but it doesn't mention anything regarding whether or not it is for heavy duty applications.
