Prairie Dog,

We ALL have very close family relations in Kansas. Therefore you better buy lots of soap and lots more beer.

Looks like you might be getting stuck.

See you in the spring.

The 48re will be available in the HO version as I posted earlier along with the hilights of the 48re it will have an extra clutch disc over the std version

Talked to a dealer today and was told that as of today the 48RE is available only by order. Will be on lots later. The dealer is checking to find out the price changes etc.

48RE is available

My dealer called last night to tell me that I could now order my truck with the HO and 48RE. So it is finally available. I'll be ordering as soon as the dealership opens this morning so I'll let you know what it costs ASAP.

48RE

That is correct. As of today, it's only listed for 3500's. List price, $1095. A BARGAIN! I hope to order a short box, HO SWR tomorrow, if the deal works out. Drove home a quad cab long box today to see if it would fit in the garage. Only 1/2" to spare. I now have a long box quad cab '01, the new is about 5" longer! And wider. Oh well.

There is a very positive to all of you buying new trucks those people that can't afford a new truck will have a good selection of used trucks:D

KC

dnitzel is right $1,095 msrp $964 invoice. Seems to be a reasonable price for the 48RE. I guess I'll be a test mule, ordered mine today. Oo.

I just ordered a standard Cummins with a 48RE,

so that leads me to believe all autos will now be the 48RE

any one hear the same?

Yup!

According to D/C, once the 48RE becomes available, the 47RE will be discontinued. My HO/48RE is scheduled for 01-09 in Saltillo.

Mike

I had the dealer spec one out and the 48re is only available on the 3500. This leads me to believe that the 47re is still available for the 2500 and the HO option is not available for the 2500 for auto trans.

Shouldn't be too much of a risk with a 7/70,000 warrenty. Yes, the transmission is included. A $100 deductable applies after the 3/36,000 is done. Sounds like a real good deal to me! Still waiting to get the deal I can live with. They will sell me a 3500 SRW HO 48RE for list +$100 and thne minus rebates. I'm not getting much as I'd like for my '01 2500, they offered $20,500 for it, with 43k miles. But I really like my local dealer.

I hope you meant $100 over INVOICE, not LIST (MSRP)

As you have problably seen on this board, the going rate for a HD is about 1-2% UNDER invoice, which is about 300-600 hundred under, and then take off rebates. IF you know the right dealer then its easy! , if you know what i mean , wink, wink :D :D

Just a small bit of info on the 48RE. The dealer I spoke to yesterday said D-C told him the first xxx units of 48REs will go first to the Texas market because they accounted for 76% of diesel sales last year. Has me scratching my head but that's what he said.

If I can't get a good deal nearby I may look for the right dealer, ahem, tommeygun... . ;)

Dealer

That's $100 over invoice, then minus rebates. Unit comes with Dodge nerf step bars, Putco bed rail protectors. Good condition, new Goodyear MTR 285 size tires, carpet delete.
