Ruined new tire-jack under front seat

Has anyone discovered a small hole in the SLT premium seat located on the back rest, front, door side, about 5" from bottom? Seems like the internal mechanism has a sharp edge inside. My ‘96 2500 with the power seats did the same thing. Maybe my large posterior is just too much for the Dodge seat design? My last fix was placing a piece of plastic pipe with hot glue over the edge. Anyone else have this problem?

Other than that, this is an OUTSTANDING vehicle. The 48RE has been great, as is the HO CTD, and the rest of the truck is just as good.

My only complaint is the new tilt wheel lever and the bottom corner of the front doors, the corners like to catch my leg if I'm not careful.

The four wheel drive reminds me of my ‘95 Jeep Cherokee with the off-road package. It goes anywhere, with tons ‘o power. I really like the traction control with the 48re while towing and off-road. It keeps the power just right and does not do a number on the ground NEARLY (if at all) as bad as other 4x4 trucks I’ve been in when climbing steep sandy hills. I really like front axle WITHOUT the disconnect and the way the manual 4x4 shift lever works to 4x4 high, and the nice shift to low. Got pretty good milage on one tank, almost all in 4x4 and about half the time in low, 12. 4 mpg with only 3400 miles on the OD. I had LOTS of fun going through lots of nasty stuff, never knew a full size truck would four wheel so well. I was impressed with the smooth ride in severely wash boarded roads also.

Also the 4x4 was real handy on the way home towing my 5er with a loaded ATV trailer behind in a nasty hail storm. Hail covered the highway at least an inch deep, several cars in the ditches. It was only nickel to quarter size. Two years ago got nailed with golfball to baseball sized hail with my ‘01 about the same location. No damage to the truck with the hail or the four wheeling.
