Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Hole in floor

If switching from and auto to a 6 spd. is the hole already in the floor for the shifter?

I know someone has done the change from auto to 6 speed. I was just wondering if the hole for the 6 speed shifter is already in the floor?

Sorry I can't help. Mine came with a hole in the floor from the factory.

There is only one floor pan listed in the Mopar parts book:

Thanks for the reply's. It's good to know that there is only one floor pan. If I decide to switch from my auto to the 6 speed. I will only have to cut the carpet, it would be a pain to try to get hole in the right place for the shifter.

not really... I've converted cars from auto to manual... just let the transmission show you where to cut the hole... . easy

the hole IS NOT in the floor.



Kind of a PITA to locate. I cut a smaller hole than needed, then kept cutting away until I could fit the trans in place. There is an inner shift boot that you can use as a final quide (to make sure your hole isn't too large). To me, this is the only real unkown in the trans swap.

Everything else is a direct bolt-in. There are even dimples on the firewall for locating the clutch master cylinder.



Keep in mind that you will need to ground one of the wires from the original auto trans wiring harness (park/nuetral)
