Anyone know about Yanmar Tractors?

Anyone Familiar with Huntington's Disease?

I saw several rotating wall clouds due west of my apt...

Then there was this really nasty wall cloud that passed directly overhead... I'm talkin' right out of the movie Twister - complete with the Dodge Ram (except this one had a Cummins and was Intense Blue... . )...

Totally freaky, nasty stuff. There were several 'nado touchdowns here in Madison... . apparently one of the wall clouds that I saw spawned a 'nado about 500 yards from my apt.

I'm very thankful that I'm an Amateur Radio geek and had my handheld charged up... I got to hear all the mobile stations checking in and reporting the WX and the damage afterwards...

My heart rate is slowly coming back to normal.

MTY - darn lucky after a VERY near miss...

Same system just passed south of me. Tornado sirens were going off but it was too dark to see anything. Looking at the radar, it was way too far from me to be a big deal.

Glad you're OK Matt.

Damn sirens just started up again.

I'm gonna go for a ride.

Nick! I'm glad you made it too... I hope to hear from Paul as well... he's close to where the stuff hit the fan as well.

For about 10 minutes... I was the most popular guy in my entire apartment complex - I simultaneously had NOAA on one frequency and the Amateur Radio severe weather spotters on the local repeater frequency all in the same handheld radio. All kinds of scared coeds all around...

The sirens were freaky - just like air raid sirens...

Matt

Mr. Shuart, and Mr Roder as well as WalleyeMike are more apt to be in the direct path of the storm. ExcessiveForce is in the area of the storm as well. Fast moving bugger.

Here come the sirens again... . I should really get going...

Should be fine by the time I hit the road in the work truck. Doubles + high winds = long ride.

Matt,just think happy thoughts... .....

happy thoughts... ...

happy thoughts of the Regency bartenders butt and it will all go away... .

I wish I was at the Regency... I wish I was at the Regency:D

That nasty lookin' swirl northeast of Madison did a number on the area in and around Waupun last night. Green Lake County was abused as well.

Fireman Dave is in that neck of the woods, hope all is well.....

visibility hear was very clear i could see wisconsin getting hit hard from my house, we were actually supposed to get those storms not you guys. Glad everyone is ok. .

I clicked my ruby slippers together at least 3 times... and I still didn't end up at the Regency. Crap.

I think my heart rate is back to normal now...

I didn't see much damage on the way to work... couple of trees down, etc. The technology park that got hit really bad is only about ¼ mile from here...

Matt

Matt,

Glad to hear you survived. Beaver Dam was spared major damage, but Waupun got hit bad. My brother-in-law up there called me last night asking for my chainsaw. His garage got hit by a large tree, so I took the saw up there around 10pm.

On 151 near Waupun I passed two 18-wheelers laying on their sides blocking the SB lanes. The wind just blew them right over..... what a mess.

The entire town was in chaos, and cops had the roads into town blocked to make sure you had business entering. Downed trees blocked most streets, and crowds of people gathered on the dark sidewalks (no power = no streetlights). It was a very strange experience to see.

I saw some of the pictures out of Waupun and there were quite a few houses that were completely leveled...

MSN didn't suffer anywhere near as bad...

Here's a picture taken by someone that lives about ¼ mile from my apartment... this is the type of freaky "Yup, that's a tornado waiting to happen... " kind of activity I was seeing last night...

Matt

Matt,

Glad you're ok. Don't ever move to Okla. I grew up there in Tornado Alley. We saw this stuff all the time in spring, summer, fall, and sometimes winter.

(First of all - Thanks to everyone who has expressed concern and eventually relief over the status of my well being!!)

I can't imagine seeing that sort of thing on a regular basis...

I gotta get me a DV camcorder - stills don't compare to seeing these clouds in motion.

I like the Panasonic AG-DVX100A - It's a sweet rig.

Welllll... . My only experience with 'quakes was when I was in Taiwan. I was sitting at a computer (probably swearing at it and shaking an angry fist... ) and the entire newsroom where I was working went nuts after I felt the building shake... .

After they realized it was 'just a little one' - things went back to business as usual.

I about crapped my pants after that first 'quake... then all the other 'little ones' weren't so bad.
