Anyone out there have any experience or information on this 5th wheel toy hauler? Good. Bad. Indifferent? Looking at buying one, and know next to nothing about toy haulers. I did ask if the coupler would accept a gooseneck hitch without damage to the trailer structure or the warranty on the vehicle and the salesman said no problem. I plan on getting that in writing if I end up buying. Looking for advice from someone who's been there, done that. Thanks

I have the 38fks Next Level, an 05 model I bought new and like it. It has two slide outs and all the goodies. Pulls real well and very little back slap with the three axles. Brakes are good for electric. I think the 5th wheel hitch is more stable than a goose neck. I would contact Holiday Rambler about using the goose neck cause the dealers will tell you anything. I carry two motorcycles and a lot of other stuff in the garage. The only problem with a toy hauler is making sure when you park you can get the ramp down to get your toys out. Any questions your have I will be glad to help.

I own a McKenzie dune chaser 34ck. My father owns the 38fks dune chaser. they are both made by hr/ monaco coach.

they both have cody coupler gn conversion hitchs and neither one has any problems with the coach or the hitch. good units well built for a 5-er.

I own the 38FKS. So you can get an overall consensus. Options include: NorCold refrig, great (10cu/ft); Carrier AC unit, great; Onan marquis 5500 great (Cummins product:); Dirt Devil cent. vac, great (Size deceives you, but it really sucks); 27" tv, cheapo, but works; 10gal hot h2O tank, great. Both electric and gas selection switch for h2O heater inside, nice. Have had warranty work done for electric beds, AC board went out, Fuse panel replaced, DVD/stereo unit replaced 2x, and other typical small stuff. Overall fit/finish is good. Doesn't feel cheap like some other models. Wish garage was 12ft and not 10', but gain 2ft in bedroom with 6' ceiling clearance. Insulated well, keeps heat in and underbelly insulated so pipes are protected well from freezing. Would like to have seen diamond plating on lower trim/fenders over the cheap plastic. Storage up front good, but access poor compared to others. Overall satisfied, would buy it again.

5th wheel pin boxes are certified components. Failure to use and or modification could result in significant liability issues, etc. in the event of an accident. Be very careful . . . I would also check with a knowledgeable RV insurance carrier.

Ask the salesman to get this in writing from Monaco's Engineering group. :-laf
