50+

Happy Birthday MotorHead.

I'm at 54 now so I know. Yeah the aches & pains (Dull Pain) are more frequent. Lots of things hurt(arthritis) I just take it a little slower and look for different ways to do things now.

But it ain't bad given the alternative. Now looking forward to retirement, working on my Dodge, Farming, Tractoring, Camping.

Someone said in this thread after you get that "1000lb load of middle management crap off your shoulders, and the Political Correctness is gone things get better. I can see the light at the end of the tunell and it ain't a train.

ENJOY

Dull Pain, Yes, I too know chronic pain. 25 years at UPS have done the deed to my body. Back surgery, and now a knee surgery in June. I got the taste of freedom being off to recover but I have to go back sept. 23. They really pile on the weight of management crap but I am going to apply a new phylosphy when I go back and that is going to be "SLOW!!". I am looking forward to retirement from UPS too and have plans to build a small shop next to the house with a lift and work on old cars for rich people with lots of money! Hope that dream comes true. Chris

When I turned 45 (10 years ago) I met an old guy who had been a WWII vet. He'd been a fighter pilot during the war, and even though he had snow-white hair he was still a pretty formidable guy. He was talking to me about a much younger guy, a friend of his son's who'd ripped him off for a few thousand dollars and the old guy said he was gonna go see him and was gonna beat him so bad the guy was, "gonna pi$$ blood for a month!".

I laughed, but I bet the guy who ripped him off didn't. Then he asked how old I was, and I told him 45, and he got this real wistsful look in his eyes and said, "Damm... I wish I was in my 40's again!" It puts it in perspective.

I think he flew P-47 Thunderbolts.
