Besides, it's amusing getting the right-wingers all upset by questioning the legitimacy of their hero - esp. when President Clinton won his elections handily, in addition to not getting convicted on impeachment, even with all those tax dollars spent investigating him. Hee hee!

2. 2. Post any material or comment that is considered to be "baiting" others into an unproductive conflict online. According to Webster's, baiting is: 1. ) to place a lure or trap; 2. ) to entice, especially by trickery or strategy; 3. ) to attack or torment, especially with persistent insults, criticism, or ridicule. Baiting is considered to be any post that intentionally badgers, heckles, or leads another user(s) into an antagonistic discussion.

Looks like a textbook case of baiting to me.

Nope, I'm not a "tattle tale". Since Robin moderates this forum, she'll ultimately find this thread and make her own decision.

Actually, I'd be surprised if the various political threads in the Other forum aren't ALL being watched very carefully by all the moderators. After what happened with Bill Fleming, and considering the hurt feelings that sometimes result from various points of view, I'm sure they're keeping a close eye on us all the time.

In the meantime, I'd like to think that my posts are respectful of others, and that they elicit meaningful dialogue with those who don't necessarily agree with my point of view. Perhaps I'm wrong, and my POV could stand a little changing. Perhaps those I'm corresponding with are wrong, and they can take away with them a better understanding of the world. Either way, my taking amusement at the right wing is pretty tame compared to the hatred I've read about here regarding President Clinton.

Billy lost most of his credibility when the whole Monica scandal went down and is now paying the price for it. The money he earns for public speaking is about 1/10 of what Ronald Reagan made when he left office. Was RR a better president? I think so but I was too young to vote for him let alone pay much attention to him.

Unfortunately this post has turned into useless bantering about who's choice is better than another, some being very critical of another choice. Why don't the people that are against President Bush post some real information about their candidates and the things these candidates could do better. We know you don't like the Prez already. I am tired of hearing all the things Bush has done wrong. Tell us how the next guy could do better.

loncray I'd like to pose a question. What is your take on the Kosovo conflict? What exactly is different about the 2... and don't go spouting off your nonsense with the WMD's. Explain to me how invading iraq and taking over control there was different to what we did in Kosovo? Lets see you dance around this one.

I didn't pay as much attention to Kosovo as perhaps I should have. As I understand it, we went in there as part of a real international coalition, we were fighting partisans (as opposed to a real army), and the world supported it. There was none of the flimsy excuse making that the Bush Administration has become famous for. Kosovo isn't a full country with a government like Iraq, so we didn't set up a puppet government. We went in with a truly moral mission to save lives, instead of using local lives as an excuse to get ahold of oil fields. That's my take on it - what's yours?

Bill Clinton is making plenty of money speaking - I remember being embarrassed when President Reagan took all that money to speak to the Japanese. As to posting on topic, what the current crop of Democratic presidential candidates are saying and doing actually isn't the topic of this thread. Go ahead and be tired of hearing what President Bush is doing wrong - I get to hear every day about what a villain President Clinton is, and you can always stop reading these threads.

Man, I've already gotten three of my Iraqi oil checks from the war, how bout you guys? 1441 1441 1441 1441, it's not real hard, this is a continuation of the gulf war, got it? You may not like it, you may not agree with it, but it's a fact.

Then why didn't the Bush Administration use THAT as their justification? They lost credibility with the world by using WMD's as their excuse.

Actually, I wonder who it is that's going in with the contracts to rebuild oil drilling and refining operations? Rusty, is your company looking for that business in Iraq? With all the damage to everything over there, there will be a LOT of money to be made in the oilfields, assuming it's ever safe enough to rebuild.

The WMDs was just one aspect of the big picture, why the left chose that to cling too only they know I guess. It's a fact he had them, he gassed thousands, whether or not he still does doesn't matter to me one bit, it was never the reason I focused on from the beginning.

But Boomer, what you (or I) focus on is irrelevant, it's what the Administration pushes that is important, and it's a fact that they used WMD's as the primary justification for invading. They used connections to Al Qaeda as one of the secondary justifications. Neither has proven to be true. I don't think we should be launching preemptive strikes on any nation without a lot of justification, but the least they could've done is use either a good justification (1441, Saddam's a tyrant, whatever) or a real one (finishing Desert Storm, Saddam tried to kill my daddy, not letting Islamic extremists take control of Iraq). It ain't what the left clings to that's the problem, it's what the right clings to.

I guess we'll agree to disagree, I never took the WMD's as the primary reason, it was layed out from the beginning with the UN resolutions, etc. As far as links to Al Queda, that's comming to light too. Time will tell, if it turns out I'm all wet I'll be the first to say so. Bet the same can't be said of you are the left. It was all about Saddam not being found, he gets found and it's no big deal. No matter what the President does it won't satisfy the Bush haters.

Amen Boomer!

Seems to me that the conservatives are the ones whining about everything here. I'm glad we caught Saddam. 'Bout darned time, but I'm glad it's done. Do I think it'll make a lot of difference in the long run? No, though there are some nice short-term advantages in terms of catching the resistance fighters.

I know you are but what am I?

No whining here, and if you want to bring up the past about Billy my complaints with him were Foreign Policy, Gun Control, Homosexuals in the military(what was that about?), Filegate, Health Care reform, and Taxes.

I think most of us agree that getting a BJ from an intern while on the job is completely wrong. If he did it on his own time at Camp David while on vacation I still think it's wrong but that's not why he was investigated. Sexual harrassment is against the law!!! If Monica sued him like some of the other women did would that still be OK?

Anyway, the past is done. Let's move on to the future of the US and it's citizens. Has our President broken any laws today? If so then there should be an investigation. The election is coming up and all I hear from the Democratic candidates is how they could do a better job but not how they will get it done.

I know I won't change your mind easily but your not going to change mine with this bantering back and forth about the "terrible job Bush is doing". Show me how the new candidates will do better and that I can trust them and I will vote for them.
