Can't bring myself to cut holes in the bed for stacks.

I had the V clamp adapter turned in the Co. s machine shop and then I used old scrap and used elbows. I then fabed up the 3X4 cone and fit it all @ home. It sounds awesome!!!!! :D No muff... It's LOUD.

I have a Monster Muffler on the 01 but I think its to quiet. Perhaps if i can find a muffler that just knocks of the "edges" I'll run that.

Exhaust work is my specialty. I absolutly love it. Looks like you had loads of fun. Keep up the good work. Our rigs deserve the best.

Here's a picture of the whole truck. I have yet to find the time or get motivated to go take good pics for my profile. Soon though!

By the way GL, I noticed on your pictures that you made a custom intake from SS tube. Did you notice any performance gain or better EGT's with that free'r flow. If not it still looks cool.

I simply made the intake cause I could. Like I said, I love exhaust work and so made it from 3 inch exhaust pipe.

I absolutely LOVE your truck. The reg cab dually is my most favorite model. And 2-Wheel drive too!!!!! I will own one some day.

Right now I'm building a set of stacks :) Just welded up the splitter.

The strait pipe was just to loud. So I put on a 20" magnaflow. Now it was too quiet. What I did was to take 12" of 4" exhaust pipe and cut out a 1/2" strip out of its length. then reshape it so it would fit inside the magnaflow. Now its perfect. I can drive easy and the tone is mild. But when I put the coal to it... ... Yesss.

DIY projects! So many projects, so little time... Quality workmanship Rebel Ram. Is there a V clamp adapter available from someone if I wanted to add another project to the list? I priced a stock downpipe recently to replace a cracked one. He qouted $150. 00 and I decided to save the money for a new larger exhaust and welded the cracked one up myself. If I could get my hands on an adapter I would do the rest myself too.

Now that is a SWEET job on the exhuast... . when it comes to "home brew" that is first rate... ...

I bet the folks on the sidewalk know your coming when you drive down a street lined by buildings..... :D:D:D

Hey Strip. I made the V-clamp adapter with a 2" long piece of 2 1/2" schedule 40 T-304 stainless steel. That is what you would call run of the mill everyday stainless every shop would have. The OD of that pipe is exactly that of 3" SS tubing. I just machined a groove 3/16" back from the mating face 5/32" deep. The V-clamp grabs that perfectly. I used a 90deg el down, a 10deg dogleg to match the stock bend that clears the frame and transmission, then a 90deg back. To that I fabbed the 3X4 cone with a short section of 4" strait w/flair. It was fun to do and now that its done I have to figure out what else I can do without BUYING parts. To bad I cant build my own TC & POD's. :-laf

Thanks for the specs Rebel Ram! The best deal I found so far is the downpipe from Source Automotive or Air Flow Systems actually has the flange for the 6BT for under $25 if anyone else would want to put together a bigger exhaust.

Just wanted to add also that I was going to chop my muffler out of this system for now but someone from Stans Headers told me that my truck would actually flow better with a muffler because of scavenging. I just re-read Rebels original post and thought I would add this and maybe see what everyone else thought or had to add to it.

where did you get the magna flow from? i 'piped mine a few months ago, it's noce when empty, but when i have a heavy trailer on it just gets too noisy. any other suggestions for mufflers would also be appreciated.

thanks, kent

I got the Magnaflow @ a local custom exhaust shop. Probably paid to much but after ordering with a credit card and paying shipping and waiting for brown sometimes it doesnt pay to try to save a couple of $$.
