My father purchased a snowblower from home cheapo and told them I would be by to pick it up within a week or so. The said no problem and tagged the blower as sold and left it near the contractor pickup door.
I stopped yesterday (3 days after purchase) at home depot service desk, they said someone already picked it up and called to say it was working fine. I stated "no one in my family picked it up, didn't anyone check ID or reciept. " reply "no. they must have just grabbed it and left. " OK where is my replacement or credit. We can not give a replacement or credit until the other one is recovered. I asked for a manager. 30 minutes later the manager arrives and states they will go through the video tapes and see if they find anything, can't do much more than that. I asked the manager if it was a general practice to mark items sold and leave near the exits, if it is not why do they have a new log splitter marked sold in the door way. I could easy back up to it and drive away. Manager said once an item is paid for home depot is not responsable for storage or theft.
My father is calling his credit card company to see if they can help. Any other ideas? I'm think punching out the manager, grabbing the splitter and calling the BBB.
