Missoula Montana anyone?

Good small business websites?

My father purchased a snowblower from home cheapo and told them I would be by to pick it up within a week or so. The said no problem and tagged the blower as sold and left it near the contractor pickup door.

I stopped yesterday (3 days after purchase) at home depot service desk, they said someone already picked it up and called to say it was working fine. I stated "no one in my family picked it up, didn't anyone check ID or reciept. " reply "no. they must have just grabbed it and left. " OK where is my replacement or credit. We can not give a replacement or credit until the other one is recovered. I asked for a manager. 30 minutes later the manager arrives and states they will go through the video tapes and see if they find anything, can't do much more than that. I asked the manager if it was a general practice to mark items sold and leave near the exits, if it is not why do they have a new log splitter marked sold in the door way. I could easy back up to it and drive away. Manager said once an item is paid for home depot is not responsable for storage or theft.

My father is calling his credit card company to see if they can help. Any other ideas? I'm think punching out the manager, grabbing the splitter and calling the BBB.

first off, why would someone call homedepot and tell them it is running fine?? Does everyone make it a habit to give them customer feedback on how a product is performing. ? :-laf I could see them calling if there was something wrong, but to let them know it runs great?

Seriously, if he paid with a credit card I would try to do a charge-back and have the credit card company recover the money.

He is tring with the CC company.

Plus where the hell does he find snow to blow in CT in october?

No where. but homecheapo had a 10HP 30" ariens marked at $650, he thought it as a deal.

Someone is blowin something, and it isn't snow...

Home Depot SUCKS!!!

All of their lawn and garden equipment is junk... Just because its Toro, Ariens, John Deere, Cub Cadet, etc... It's all made with cheap parts. Go to an actual lawn equipment dealer and buy. Price might be a bit higher, but it's quality!

Ditto. You'll also be in the computer there, and getting repair parts is much easier, as the model and serial #s are there too.

Any problems I had with them, was taken care of by an e-mail and phone call from headquarters. Had a problem with a freezer one time and got it taken care of within a day.

I was forceful in my conversation and they understood that. Customer service couldn't have been better after they understood their product was junk.

Try sending corporate an e-amil explaining what has happened and see if they don't help you out.

That is true with ANY big box store. They sell "brands". All they advertise is by "brand" names. Almost any of these manufacturers have the cheap version they sell to the big box stores and the premium version they sell to the specialty stores. The big box version is cheaper for a good reason! You get what you pay for!

Even so, that is a crappy arse way to do someone! Another great thing about big box stores is customer NO service! Again, you get what you pay for!!
