?? home heating oil usage

I was wondering how much oil is used for heating homes in our country? It always seems that diesel gets a hit during the winter, not that I'm against heating a home thats first and foremost. Its just a curious question.

I used to go through about 500 gallons a season.

When I had my big rig, I used more in 3 days than all year with my house.

Just seems funny, isn't home heating oil (Not taxed) about the same as over the road (taxed) diesel?

No idea. Its strictly natural gas for home heating out here. I doubt you could even find home heating oil here.
