Does anybody know anywhere on the internet to get measurements to build your own leveling kit. It looks like a simple and cheap job if you have the metal and the tools to do it with. Thanks for the help.

Why would there be a risk? I would think anyone who does work on antique tractors and can do a little metal fabrication could make the spacers. All they would need is a good pattern.

I am a welder and fabricator and thought that it looked like a simple job if you have the right metal and equipment to do it with. I just can't seem to find any measurements on the net. Another question, how do you feel out your signature and put your truck and its mods down on every thread. I can't seem to figure it out.

I agree, its a simple and straight forward modification. Go for it if you want but if you factor in your time it might be cheaper to just buy a leveling block/spacer.

I fabed 1" aluminium spacers that fit under the spring for my #2 gen. works great

to just level the truck.

I have looked at the #3 gens and basic same set up.

I could send picts if you want

I would like to see some 2" spacers that are in two halves that bolt together with countersunk allen head cap screws - 2 on each side. If they are in two halves, one would not have to remove the springs or shocks to install.

PS - what model John Deere tractors do you have?

The spacers that are commercially available are solid metal cast or machined down from solid stock. There’s no welding or fabricating involved. Sometimes its just easier/cheaper to buy stuff off the shelf, the manufacturers can spread out the cost of r&d over thousands of units making them cheaper that what you can build yourself.

I have a 1948 John Deere A that me and my dad restored. It actually got put into a popular calendar this you for February. I also have a 1951 John Deere G that I pull. It has been "chipped" and is putting out 75 hp. The only thing I didn't do to it was stroke it. Could someone tell me how to fill out my signature with my truck and its mods. Thanks.

ill tell you go to the top and on the "discussion forums" drop down list go to user control panel and the first thing on the left is edit signature click that and there you go write what you want and click save signature
