I am almost 100% certain that you can't parallel two different sizes. Maybe someone has tried this and can confirm.

Get the two Honda's! Run them parallel when you need the ac. This works great for me.

If I can use the single Yamaha and it will power my AC, why would I spend about $700 more for the two Hondas? I would also then have two generators to sercice instead of one. From what I have read, the Yamaha 2800 is perfect for smaller 5th wheels and trailers, the Honda 2000 is too small, it seems like two of them is overkill. I wish Honda made something size, power and price to compete with the Yamaha 2800.

I don't think anyone here is trying to convince you are anyone else that the Honda is "The Only Way To Go". But it may, just may be the best way to go.

You are correct the Yamaha 2800 will run your AC, that is will run it some of the time. If you ever travel in any altitude it may not be enough. It is also louder and quite a bit louder too. With two of the Honda 2000 you have the option of using one if that is all you need, but the second one is there if more power is required and that will "Probably" be the case some of the time.



The Honda is also in my opinion a better unit. While i do not and never have owned a Yamaha 2800, I have had three Yamaha 1000 watt units. All three of these lasted almost exactly the same amount of time, and that was right around 600 hours of run time. After that the motors where shot and I change oil every 15 hours. One of the two Honda 2000 I have now has 1285 hours on it and is still going strong, I had this Honda in for service last week. they decorbanized the head and found very little wear.



I personally don't have a dog in this fight, don't own stock or get money from either Company. But in my humble opinion there is no comparision between the two. None!!

After re-reading the entire thread especially the noise level I may just get the single Honda 2000, probably the only time I will actually need the generator for the trailer is when I am in upstate NY and even in July I probably will not need the AC, I am pretty sure the the single Honda can also run some lights and the fridge at home in a pinch.

Well in case anyone is still deciding... . got to use my new honda eu2000i this summer for a week long camping trip at a federal park.



Very quiet,easy to start, just light enough to haul around and it ran everything except my 15k air... (which threw the breaker after about a minute or two, so i didn't try again. )



Most of the time I just let it run where it was... (chained to the trailer wheels under a slide,) but if we were going to be sitting for an extended time next to it, I would move it a few yards away and point it the other direction... almost couldn't hear it. (and this campground was VERY quiet!)



(However I'm glad I didn't get the heavier unit... . another few lbs and I would have to re-think where & how to carry it and where I could run it!)



Couldn't be happier with it!
