Preping a 16ft Flatbed Trailer for Paint

12 Volt Charging/LP Alarm

Just got my Honda generator dropped off this morning by UPS, Took about 4 weeks from time of order. $895, no shipping fees.

They did originally say two week wait, then when I recontacted them, they added another week.....

The only thing that keeps them from getting an almost perfect rating (other than the three week wait!) was I asked twice to be sure to have an email with a UPS tracking code when they shipped, but got nothing.

(In fact I was just getting ready to call them again, when I happened to look out my window & saw a UPS box sitting in my driveway!)

Other than that, I'd give them a good grade! Ordered from Alamia in Colorado. Basically the same deal that Mayberry's in NJ has... just a little closer to Calif & I thought I'd give them a try.

(Honda has made it a pain in the rear since they have been cracking down on Internet sales because of dealers complaining about being undersold!)

Good choice on generator DanDee, I went with these guys and had pair of 2000's in four working days.

I use mine with a parallel cord that I made for $50. 00. They run the air in my rv, even at 5500 ft elevation with no problem.

I've had a few pm's about my parallel cable set up. Here is some information on how to do it.

I did mine this way, but I used the 20amp plug ends instead of the banana plugs.

This is a good write up that I can't take credit for. I found it on an rv website, can't remember where though.

I also have a 2000i. Very good generator. Last year in late elk season the temps never got above about 10 degrees with a low of 20-25 below (extremely cold). anyway we ran the gen for 5 solid days 24/7 and only burned 7 gallons of gas. was getting 12-15 hours for every gallon. My microwave makes the gen run harder than the A/C. Can't figure that one out. The A/C needs 1800 watts to run and 2500 to start yet my gen runs the A/C easier than the micro which tales 1500 watts. can watch TV and the gen makes a little hum that you have to listen for to hear it (these things are very quiet) little pricey though I paid $850. Lightweight, portable, quiet, efficient

RankRam,

Thanks, great article... I've saved the site as I too plan on buying another 2000, as soon as my bank accountant lets me!!!

Somewhere I have a web site for a guy who made a pair of box's that fit near the tailgate on a truck set up for a 5th wheel . Neat way to carry two, he just flips down each end and runs them in place!

Thanks again!

Just a thought. Wouldn't it be easier to get a Honda EU3000 or Yamaha 2800 generator? They put out enough power I am told to handle anything you might wish to do and it would be cheaper then buying two generators.

Just curious!

Each Eu2000 weighs 46. 3 lbs dry and can be lifted into the bed of my truck without even a grunt.

The Eu3000 weighs 134 lbs dry so that was a big factor for me.

I have the choice of running just one of the 2000's if I don't need to run the ac on the rv.

The 2000's running in parallel have a peak load of 4000 watts, this is something that comes into play when you are at higher elevation.

I researched this for about eight months and so far I have not one regret.

Well not to be a copy cat... . but RankRam just about covered it!

( Except for the part about my wife never speaking to me again if I had tried to spend $1800 on a noisy little red box!!! Hard enough convincing her $900 was necessary!)

My wife is just getting over the $40K + on the new truck last month, now the GPS, hitch, running boards, brake controller, gen set..... kinda making her cranky!!!!

>>>>>>>BerylPugh, when elk hunting last year I assume you were running your forced air furnace off the gen? I had a wall heater installed in my trlr but at 7000' elevation it sometimes shuts off due to a low oxygen sensor, I believe. The gen runs your forced air ok? I also have the Honda 2000i. Larv

Larv:

The burner in the furnace of my Arctic Fox will cycle on and off at altitude (over 8000 ft) if the battery is not topped off. I think what is happening is that the over temp sensor is shutting the burner down becuase of low air flow caused by higher altitude and low battery voltage. I have not had this problem if the batery is near full charge. I have yet to totally resolve the problem, but since I live in AZ now, it's not much of an issue.

Larv... . the generator runs the furnace just fine. I can run the furnace and watch TV with every light in the trailer on and it only bumps up the gen a little bit.

Klenger... . I have a desert fox so I assume the furnace is similar to yours and I am not faniliar with what you are describing. I was at about 7000 feet and everything seemed to work just fine.

Wait until after your first long power outage and you will be able to convice her..... I am the proud owner of twin 2000s.

HMMmmmm - two 2000's are more than I really need - one isn't big enough for those occasions when the AC would be nice - too bad Honda doesn't have a 2500 that would bridge the gap...

I have been looking into the Yamaha EF2800i generator. It has all the power I should need to run everything and light weight too. Only 64 lbs. and holds 3 gal. of gas so it should run a long time.

This model seems to fill the gap between the Honda EU2000 & EU3000 models. Anyone try one of these yet?

Just thought I would throw in what I have found and my two cents worth.

Scott

Well, according to the spec. sheets on the generators they are all rather close to same noise levels:

Yamaha EF2800i - 60. 0 - 67. 0 dBA

Honda EU2000 - 53 - 59 dBA

Honda EU3000 - 49 - 58 dBA

I am not a sound engineer but they seem rather close enough for me. I have not personally listened to any of them though so I could be wrong. Anyone really know the truth?

Not trying to raise a stink here, :-{} , just trying to show other possible options! :D :D
