Rumor from Eric Owen is that hood mat may return in 2005 models. Maybe light too?

HA!

He tried to get a mat program going, but DC wants to hold the rights with the vendor.

Looks like your best bet is to find an aftermarket light or a wrecked 2nd gen 1500 in the Jyard... .

Who needs a lite? This is a CUMMINS under the hood and the only lite we need is to drive in the dark to find the c's & f's to pull their butts out of trouble :D :D :D :D :D

Other than showing it off at nite (can use flashlite better) what gud is it? hooking up jumpers to the c' & f's? That would draw your juice too much - wouldnt think of letting them get the CUMMINS juice - it just MIGHT blow their engs (if thats what they can be called);)

(note 2 me - put flame suit on)

Wasnt trolling, ;) , just expecting the c's & f's to jump in with both feets (since they do know how to use THEM) :D !

Ya think they gonna remove the hood from the base order, and put it as an option? Eh, it's crazy what some folks do for saving a few bucks. I wouldn't need a light anymore, better cooling as well ... :{ Dan

Gee, if hoods were an option imagine the space for Scotty and all to cook up a really good intake system!!:D

I'm imagining a "Dual Rat-Fink AFhE Psychoppy BullieDog Ram Intake" with "KNN Filter Deflectors and 8" Banksd stuffer tubes in gleaming chrome, wait, no... Billet! :--)

I'll need a can-opener to peel back the roof so I can extend that shifter a bit, too:cool:

We need a resident cartoonist!

Good one, Dan;)

looks like dodge is not the only auto maker w/ the problem. I looked under a buddies hood on a $47,000 duramax no light. he was ticked i said join the crowd.

Far be it for me to be contrary, but the hood light and the make up light are two things that I don't miss. I carry a mag light and I quit using make up :D .

I use my 5 cell Mag-lite to keep the c&f jokers at bay,( and from drooling all over my nice shiny SILVER paint!!!):D :p

I agree with your comment, Kory. Even my old 1986 truck (Ford) had a light under the hood. My wife would like a lighted vanity mirror, which Dodge also saw fit to leave off. A $44,500 truck without these amenities is guaranteed to keep Ford owners laughing at us.

Couldn't agree more, but remember that women folk play huge roles in purchases that involve them. It's one thing when a guy buys a work truck for himself, and quite another thing when the truck is used as primary family transportation.

In my case I promised my wife she wouldn't lose a thing going to a truck instead of a car. Consequently, I put a BedRug in the rear and sealed it up real good. Then I added a rollup Access cover so the luggage would have a dry place to ride.

The madam and I, along with our Portuguese water dogs, ride up front looking down at the world. She's happy, the dogs are happy and so is the luggage. All's right with the world!

Wise words, Jeremiah and I shall them take to heart.

My dear wife of 36 years loves the new truck, but not nearly as much as our Golden Retriever, Woody. That back seat is HIS and try to get the wheels rolling without him:D .

The only thing I added that isn't listed below are chrome step bars. I put them on when I noticed my wife of 28 years dangling like a tree monkey trying to climb on board this beast.

My wife insisted that the boards be on the truck when it arrived in our yard. She also called me "stupid" when I didn't order the side air bags. A change order went in that afternoon. All the dog wanted was the back seat ;) .

What boards did you get? My Westin rails look good but snow and ice accumulate on top when the melt is on. The rails become unusable until I stop by a car wash and hose them off.
