i am planning on painting my 92 250 regular cab john deere green with yellow wheels and the flat bed black. anybody know if a hood stack is street legal here in idaho ? the truck will probably also go to utah and wyoming and that will be the extent of its raduis.

Nope. Anything that alters or obstructs the forward view will get you unwanted recognition. If they want to push it dash pods, hood scoops and even fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror constitute a vision hazard.

I can just about guarantee a hood stack will contribute to conversations with local and state authorities. :-laf

awwww you should move to Texas!!! u can have one here... .

that would be badass, make sure and send me pics it love to see it.

JD is the theme of my CTD.

hey im from texas and almost have the stuff to put a stack out my hood... if i can ever get my buddy to sell me a turbo:rolleyes:mine also has a black flat bed... . i think its gonna look sweet:D then maybe i wont keep on p!ssin ppl off#@$%!and makin cars almost wreak cuz of too much smoke that they cant see:D:-laf cuz it wont be cummin out the side.

kinda the reason i wanted to hood stack mine cuz i can promise when this thing finally does leave shop its going to smoke like hell . i will post pictures on here when i get done painting it needs a lot of body panels but im going to paint it anyway then when i get the parts plan on repainting it again but for now i just want to paint it and i have 3 gallons of factory paint so i figure why not

one could make the argument that its better to be coming out the hood so that you dont blind people behind you. could try it when the cop pulls you over.

too bad its not legal that would be one bad *** looking truck

i say do it! JD green is the best color you can get... ill get pics one of these day of it smokin out the side like it is now and after if i go ahead and put the stack.

Silly boys, cars are green, trucks are red, and tractors are YELLOW. ;) I used to work on Deeres, and just really can't see the facination with painting stuff green/yellow. I guess maybe your plan is to make the whole truck mad, hoping it will run better?:-laf

As far as the hood stack, be prepaired for soot, and crud falling all over your new paint. I've got a white service truck that even with a can on the stack every night, I get black spots over the white paint. I also have a red truck with stacks that are also covered when parked, and get spots all over the truck. I guess stacks are more of function instead of style for me. The stack on my service truck prevents me from breathing fumes, while working around it, when its running. My truck with stacks, is an offroad truck, seeing lots of mud, dirt, and sometimes water crossings, plus like said above, when its working the smoke goes up mostly, instead of at bystanders. So to have that, I accept the drawbacks of having upward exhaust, with messy trucks sometimes.
