Off Roading Mem. Day weekend at Moab with Yamaha Rhino

Competition pull in Hebron IL.?

4th low with a five speed is direct drive and it is also higher than 2nd hi, from what Ive seen with pulling with a 5spd 3rd low 3. 55s with 35in tires is the sweet spot but since you say it has 4. 10s depending on the tire size I would try 2nd hi first if it wont take it let out before 75ft and drop to 3rd low.

I tried 4lo with a set of mach 4. 5 with 3. 54 gears and tore out my first clutch but that was because it was never installed right. never got enough balls to try it again. But now I've got a set of 6's so I might try it again. The rest of the times I pulled 3rd and had no problems. but I keep getting beat by auto's so I'm going to try 4th even if I have to put another clutch in.

Duckslayer, i saw in your sig. that you have a 5 speed and you are running the con ofe with the 1 3/8 input shaft how is it possible to have a 1 3/8 input with a con OFE???? on a NV4500

sbc will build you an ofe with an 1 3/8ths" input shaft. i have a friend who has one in a 99 5spd

I didnt know that.

What would you need a 1 3/8 with a single disk for?? the Ofe only stands up to 900 FT lbs.

when do we see a 1 1/4 shaft break??

Michael

if you had a dual disc clutch and didnt like driving it. so you replaced the clutch but didnt want to replace the input shaft again. thats why he has that clutch.

not tryin' to hyjack this thread, but what would be best to run with my truck 3rd low, 2nd high, or maybe overdrive on low range 4:10's auto 285's decent power that lights quick :) oh yeah 4000rpm . Just looking for suggestions.

thinking of pulling this year?

If I can scrap up some $$ for a DD, then I would like to pull at a few events. .

Tom,

Dont forget you have to buy the larger input shaft.

If you start pulling you wont stop! :D

Do yourself a favor and get some traction bars before you start pulling.

3rd low with 4. 10's and 255 (33") tires won't quite do it these days! I can win against the farm boys in the dually class at my local fair but the other fairs with the 8500 lb class the guys with 35's and 3. 55's and 12 valves with propane are whopping me plus they are spinning more rpm's. I've got to get over 500 hp I think so I can run 4th low.

I pulled in my hometown last night and won, I used 3rd Low(3. 55 gears & 33" tires) and was turning 3400-3500RPM's while going down the track! I was surprised when I got halfway down the track and decided to look! :-laf

Oh yeah I WON! Oo. Put 30 feet on a hot PSD that took 2nd place!
