Any brains out there have a good idea for this? I had thought about just getting the cassette adapter because it plugs right into the laptop. Only problem is I don't have a cassette player :( . Any other way to wire this into the system? I'm sure there's some contraption out there I haven't seen yet. I would like to be able to have access to thousands of songs (all paid for of course ;) ) rather than just a few burnt CD's. All help is much appreciated.

What type of head unit are you running? I have auxilliary inputs in the back of mine, several RCA's, and my old head unit had hookups for a sound field processor, should you want to hook up a DVD, or a TV monitor. . I know sony makes an aux input, as I have one to install in a friend's Freightliner Western Hauler conversion when he gets back off the road from Rodeos... He has a TV, and now one in the top console, but no way to run them through the stereo. I am going to make it so when he hits the source button on the head unit, it will have the AUX input, for watching TV, also allowing you to hear it throughout the whole truck. . let me know what type of head unit you have, as stock ones, there is not much hope for. A good head unit will cost a little more, but it is worth it in the long run... Please keep this in mind, and dont take shortcuts. You will only hurt yourself in the long run! Like I said, if needed, PM me, or reply back on here should you need any assistance.

Thanks Chris, I do have the stock head unit. I will be interested in upgading a little later because I just spent my wad on the B1 and injectors. I'll pm you when I'm ready to change the head unit.

I have tried this with a pioneer unit. I used an adapter from pioneer that uses the cd changer input connection on the deck. It then has RCA inputs on the adapter, so almost any source could hook up to it.

When I tried a laptop there was noise from an inverter I was using to run the laptop. There is also other problems using a laptop in the vehicle.

I almost never use the input now. Just CD's or the radio.
