I just saw this story. I had to ask myself why there aren't more laws like this in other states. Seems like almost everywhere the criminal has more protection and rights than any of his or her victims. I may move to Texas after all.

Ain't it great, lol. Louisianna has had a similar law for a while, they made it legal to shoot carjackers years ago. All states should be this way afterall you DO have to right to defend yourself. The Supreme Court made the decision some time ago that citizens have to right to defend themsleves that it is not the job of law enforcement to defend you. A police officers job does not start in most cases until a crime is commited. I have my permit and carry anywhere I legally can.

States like IL must have law makers that are criminals themselves. Everyone with any sense knows that gun laws are not going to stop criminals from getting guns. So, in order to protect their way of life, take the guns away from the law abiding citizens. Why else would they want to dissarm the citizens??? And I agree, Hooray for Texas!!!!!!! Hope it rubs off onto other states.

My only complaint about Texas is the dreaded hot as you know what summers. Geeze I hate it when May comes cause I know what comes next. As much as I don't care for alot of what Rick Perry stands for I have to congradulate him for standing up for the 2nd amendment. He has done the right thing for the citizens of Texas.
