Due to another driver crossing the center line a wacking the rear end out of my truck, I am looking at purchasing a new truck. I have seen some info about good sources for this... . "tommy gun" and others. Where is the best place to build a new truck to order and get the best price?

Dave

P. S. I only have about 30K to spend

you can go to kelly blue book - kbb.com to get an idea about what options are available, but follow only the invoice price if you are going to buy local. don't let them talk you "down" from sticker.

otherwise, tomeygun is below invoice and has info at newdodgeorderform.com

thats what i know. hope it helps

Thanks

Thanks for all the great info. i am going to try to get a hold of Tommeygun and chat about a new truck. Any more info about new stuff would be helpful. Which trans will be in it if i order the 6 speed... NV or whole different design, upgrades on the death wobble, HP and torque rating, Which rims to use, fuel milage,..... anything helps :) :) :-laf :-laf .

It sucks and all, but that really doesn't look like much damage. Is the frame all twisted up or something?

In PA, you'd be fixing that, not getting a new truck.

My 94 looked a whole lot worse than that after a Beretta went under the back at about 45 MPH. I bought my 03 thinking it was over, but the insurance co had it fixed (Tech 2000 on Barlow St. ) and it seems pretty good now.

I got the estimate for the damage... . just change over $14,000. From the transmition all the way back is going to be replaced. The insurance company would not tell me what the "true definition" of a totalled is. BigHammer, you are a bit of inspiration for me. I was going to purchase a 1990 to just play around with, and then have a 2005 to baby. I still like the truck a lot and the info yougave me will make me sleep better at night after I sell the rig.

dclassens... in PA, a 'total' is when the amount of the repairs exceeds the retail value of the vehicle, plus sales tax, title, etc...

quite often, we can get the body shops to buy the wrecks for a 'project' to keep the guys busy... then go buy a different vehicle... a thought for you.
