Alternator problems on the road .........

Yesterday afternoon - I filed up with diesel (3/4 tank). Truck drove fine for 50-60 miles no problems. Got home and decided to try an MP-8 that I had ordered. Wired the Map harness after the TST to the ECM, the rail harness after my rail pressure gauge.

Attempted to start the truck - turn, turn, turn - finally fired with lots of white smoke and a sickening sound of misses and knocks, stalled after a few seconds. CEL light and Water in Fuel light came on. Codes include cam and crank position sensors, pedal high, pedal low... ...

Took off the MP-8, attempted to clear the codes with the PPE. Set the ECM back to stock with the PPE (it was on tow). Water in fuel light still on after reflash.

Attempted restart with the same issues. Not sure what to do next.

Did the MP-8 mess up something? Can the WIF light come on for another reason besides the obvious?

PLEASE HELP

I would check for water first, then contact the gas station if you find some. Some gas stations will take care of problems for contaminated fuel if you can show that you got it from them.

Jason,

I had the same problem with my quad box when I installed it. The connectors for the MAP sensor can be plugged in either way. There are two tabs on the wiring so it doesn't look obvious. I had the exact same problems that you are experiencing. Double check your connectors.

By the way, thanks again for the turbo. It has been awesome!!!
