Any one had this happen lately????
2006 Ram 2500 4x4, Last week unplugged block heater, started truck, drove 22 miles in 10° weather, Reno, NV. Got to work, shut truck off, slid out cab, horn went off , cabin lights on extra bright, key in ignition sounds with key in hand. door ajar illuminates with door closed. horn on with door closed. So I'm perturbed now!!! Why now!!!!
I get in & restart truck and nothing shuts off.
I cycle key tumbler through, no codes reported. shut truck off, and restart several times. Always some other electrical ghost pops its head up. All systems act screwy. Drive around the shop several times, come back and shut down. Horn stops, but interior cabin lights on bright again, cargo light on and door ajar light on too. Mind you the tachometer has not worked almost since day one with one cluster change when first bought it in 2007. Every one in awhile it will show signs of life.
Key fob works as designed since I thought I bumped it when I got out of the truck. Any button I pushed resulted in no action inside the truck and the horn acted like the cold weather made it stick in the on position. Eventually the horn stopped blarring about 30-45 seconds into my cussing at it. Whether I hurt the horns feelings? I don't really care at this point! The Point is all systems were a go until I shut it down to go to work, then it had a hissy fit!
When I left it the door ajar and chimes were still going on their own and the cabins lights were still on.
I figured it would either drain the battery, catch on fire , or reset itself, which it did on its own.
I went in and came back out after it warmed up about 10 ° and all systems seems to reset themselves. Thoughts?
Thanks
Dave
