Aren't you running pretty much below the power band of this motor? My 6-spd is on a 2d Gen ISB and it's BOMB'd pretty well, but I never run below 1. 800 except idling in 1st or 2nd in traffic.

on my daily drive to work, i have one section of road where the land is dead flat with no stop signs or lights for about 2 miles. i have no problems driving in 6th gear there turning that 1000-1100 rpm. it slightly droans if i start to acclarate without downshifting there... but i'll usually set the cruse control on and let it go... but i have no issues driving between 1000 - 3000 rpm. anywhere between there i am happy

Thanks

so far everyone I have talked to about the TST box has said that 5" is a must. Now I am not sure about what turbos they are running though. They might be able to do a turbo swap and lower the EGTs that way.

I too wonder about that, I was under the impression that it was a 4 in all the way. I had my cat removed and I originally told them it was a 4 in pipe, they never corrected me, even after installation. Isn't the biggest part of an aftermarket exaust the better downpipe and through muffler flow?

Yes. If you have a 4" downpipe, there isn't a lot of point to 5" except if you like noise and in the thrid gen, LOTS of drone. You can help some by replacing that 100 lb. (well, it seems that big) stock muffler. The feds will get upset, as will most state inspection stations, if you mess with kitty (catalytic converter).

I've been wanting to upgrade to a 4in downpipe and up to my straight through muffler and then do 5in from there. I think it would sound quite good but don't want any drone.

problem not the exhaust its the turbo. a 4 inch and nice turbo will lower egts and many have. but the tst does need twins on the upper settings so a 5 inch is about mandatory.

What is the SIZE?

Thanks for the help before hand... Anybody: What is the factor size of the header's, turbo in - out, and exhust diameters? Asking here saves time and you all have some great talent on the TDR!
