Chevy Trailblazer

Beware of the DMV!! (long)

I am about to buy an old 1973 Chrysler NewYorker to inter in a demolation derby. I know that in the early 70's the engines had their compression lowered.

This tank has the 440 cubic inch with 1 fat 4-bbl.

What I need to know is the horsepower and torque.

We have a set up that keeps from cooking the engine if the radiator gets bursted.

I plan on putting this engine in a truck or small car after the derby.

I think it has the torque-flight 727 trannie.

Thanks in advance.

The old Motor Manual shows the 1973 Chrysler with 440 with 4bbl. 215hp @3600 with 345# torque @2000. Dodge and Plymouth had the 440 with 220hp @3600 and 350# torque @3200 and another one with 280 hp @4800 and 380# torque @3200. bg
