I read here quite a bit about all the bombs you guys do to these already great trucks. Does anyone have a run down of the stock horsepower/ torque levels of all the cummins/dodge trucks starting back with first gen up to the new 600 and including my 2004 SO? I would be curious to know where I stand in the list. Does the 2004 SO still have more torque than say a stock truck of an older year? I hate to think I am at the bottom of the torque spec list. If so I may catch the bomb bug soon. Has a complete list of torque specs ever been made for all the years and where can I find it?

Thanks

I'm getting these from a book so no one shoot me if the numbers I post are not correct:

1st gen cummins dodge: 160 HP 400 ft/lbs TQ

2nd gen as of 1994: auto trans equipped rated at 160 HP 400 TQ

manual trans equipped rated at 175 HP 420 TQ

* in 1995 manual trans went to a 430 TQ rating

as of 1996 auto truck 180 HP 420 TQ

manual truck 215 HP 440 TQ

2nd gen as of 1998. 5 (24 valve engine) auto truck 215 HP 420 TQ

manual truck 230 HP 450 TQ

*1999 manual rated at 235 HP 460 TQ

2nd gens in 2000 had introduction of the HO motors rated at 245 HP 505 TQ

2003 the HO went to 305/555 and then 04. 5 to 325/600... now at 325/610

So your SO has more HP and TQ than quite a few of the older trucks... I think your SO is rated at 235 (or 250?) HP 505 TQ right? That's more than all the trucks up thru 1999.

Thanks XJSuperman. I believe mine is 235/460. I am glad to know I am not at the bottom. I do not need more power. I only tow a small 3000lb. TT. I got to keep telling myself , I do not need more power. ... . but it is so easy to have more. I may have to order one of those Bullydog gizmos. I don't need it, but it sure would be fun.

Jason, how is that new truck running? What has the mpg settled at?My truck is still box stock engine wise, added a tool box fuel tank combo.

Thanks Pawpaw for the link.

For sure needs an update. That's the best explanation of year model differences I have ever read.

It looks to me that if I choose to increase power, my limitation is going to be that nv4500. Read somewhere in there that it is at it's limit with 450 torque. Any recommendations?
