Have seen several post signatures with 'Horton Fan' included in the list.
What are the advantages of this fan assy over the original, does it pull more air? When towing, my xmsn temp is quite sensitive to load change, more load, up goes the temp, would this help keep it down, also, are they expensive.
Thanks in advance.

Most fan clutches will not last more than 5 years and still work effectively. If you don't feel like spending the big bucks for the Horton, you can cheap it like I did and go to Autozone. For less than 60. 00 bucks, you can get a good aftermarket replacement.

I have the Horton. It's worth every penny! If you live in ever changing climate as I do it does not take long to pay for it self. It will suck bugs out of your radiator that you thought would never come out. Plus small tools and parts off the work bench at start up with slight rev. It sucks that much air. Hard to believe until you see one at work. This thing keeps water cool! Yes they are expensive, but one of the best upgrades I've done on several trucks.

I've got a Horton on my '93 and the only problem I've had with it was in Utah in '99. I was just south of SLC hauling a 6000 lb load at 65mph and thought my truck was running hotter than it should. Outside temp was 95 the air was on. I have since added a good coolant temp gauge from "Genos" but have not been in the same conditions so I have not been able to duplicate those conditions. It has improved mileage and rarely comes on even on the hottest of days. I personally would not go back to the factory setup.

Will the horton fan mopar sells fit the first gen ? I read that they changed the fan support in 91 1/2 if I have an early one do I have to change the support as well Thanks in advancd #ad

I've got two 14" PermaCool electric fans side by side. For about $180 from Summit, they are MORE than adequate for the job. I put them out when they fan bearing went out and I had to saw off the shaft and pitch the mechanical fan.

Did you install a 2nd alternator??LOL
With the fan calcs I did you would need an additional 275 amps??(5Hp = 38. 5 Kw/14 volts= 275amp)just to run similar fan power with electricity.
Correct me if I am wrong.

You cut WHAAAAT??? why would you do that? Did you re route your serpentine belt around the fan pully, or just hacksaw the fan clutch off? If you wanted to remove your fan clutch all you had to do was unscrew the large nut between the pulley and the clutch.

My 92 tends to run a little warm and am considering a Horton. Can anyone tell me a sorce and aprox price? I go to the Horton page and only get info on big rigs. If someone could email me or post a reply it would be greatly appreaciated
