Can someone tell me the hose fitting size for the inlet side of the oem fuel filter canister on my early '04?
The previous owner installed a FASS pump and routed the fuel supply hose from the FASS pump directly to the injection pump. In doing this, he left the fuel inlet opening on the oem fuel filter canister open, with no cap or anything to cover it. I'd like to know the fitting size so I can buy a threaded cap for the inlet on the oem fuel canister.
Since buying this truck, I have replaced his FASS pump (which he mounted on the bottom of the bed---noisy!) with a new FASS Titanium system mounted on the frame per the FASS instructions. This new system also by-passes the oem fuel filter canister per the FASS instructions.

Isn't it an o-ring type seal? Seems to me my adapter plate, that replaced the oem lift pump had an o-ring and a couple of torx screws holding it in place. Call Richard at GDP, he will know what you need, and how to fix. I left my factory canister and filter in place and use when I went with my Walbro, could not see a reason not to, with the fuel heater and extra filtration.

Richard's number is 509-993-4923, he will fix you up!

Get a 12 MM ORB ( o-ring boss ) plug and thread it in there. That's what I did when I installed the Airog. I also ran the hose direct from the AD to the CP3. I added a drilled and tapped banjo bolt, for my fuel pressure gauge sender, in place of the original one when attaching the new line to the CP3. ( Cummins p/n 4918413 ) I left the stock fuel filter housing there because the return line goes to the housing. There is no filter in the stock housing. David

The fuel inlet on the side of the filter canister was used with o ring seal for the "barnacle" style lift pump. I have a few aluminum blocks that bolt to the side like the pump would, and have a nose to accept the o ring and seal the hole. At DD we used these blocks when we ran from an underneath aftermarket lift pump directly to the filter canister, deleting the stock plastic lift pump. You will seal the hole with a pipe plug.
