Looking for some help on my 01 3500. After 10 miles of driving, the rear brakes, one side or the other not normally both, will be very hot and SMOKIN. ABS and brake lights are on. Any ideas on a good starting spot?

Do you use your emergency brake a lot? I`m assuming these brakes are disc. . Either way, check the moveability of your e-brake cable, and mebe shoot some lithium grease inside the casing, and work it in. Might be good to check brake quality and ebrake hardware with the wheel off... Other than an actual ABS malfunction with the pump, which you`d no doubt feel pulsing, my bet is the ebrake. .

good luck

Thank you for the reply. I have looked at the E- Brake and all seems to be alright. I might take a closer look but I do believe that the are free from drag. I was thinking it was in the ABS unit. As for pulsation from the ABS, I can't say that I have felt it for some time. Sence the light appeared on the dash. I'll start with a good look at the E-Brake.
