Hot/cold and cold/cold

Well just about the time a get comfortable with my truck something crazy happens. Summer is nearing an end the mornings are getting a little cool... so this morning I switched the dash air over to some warm air for the feet and defrost and all I got was cold air. After making sure I had indeed turned up the thermostat I kept checking the vents top and bottom, nothing but cold air. I tried to switch back to dash vents and nothing. The HVAC seems to be stuck on the cold side and stuck on the defrost and floor vents. I have nothing coming out the dash vents, no blending no nothing. Simple question: what cause that????

First, the engine was warm, right? Just checking.

The air flow problem sounds like the classic broken blend door. A very common problem on trucks through 2005, at least.

To repair, the heater box must be removed and a new blend door is installed (which has been upgraded to address this issue).

Just took mine in for the exact same problem for warranty repair. Done in about 5 hours and seems to be working well. I just wish there was another option so it won't break again...
