Ever seen a 2500 LB sideways on the interstate?

The other evening - during a 1hr 45 min drive I happened to put my finger on the panel next to the dash panel light dimmer control - HOT-HOT #ad
- not enough to burn skin but definitely not something I'm comfortable with. Panel lights work fine --
Ideas????

Did you have them dimmed at all??? I assume the dimmer is just a resistor and will get hot unless you are running them on full power. Just a thought

Mine does the same thing. It's the resister in the switch. It is most likely mounted close to the dash panel. Put the dash lights on full power and it will not get so hot.

Thanks All - Yeah "Desert Rat One" they were dimmed just under "Full Bright" - I was afraid that others were experiencing the same thing - Maybe a little water cooling will help. The higher heat will probably shorten the life of the plastic panel - just gives me good reason to install the wood "Lookalike" trim.
