What has everyone heard of better yet experienced with the Hot Rod VP44. I know they make more power but how about longevity, anyone know of a handful of people getting some long term use out of these things???

My first hot rod pump had about 5000 miles on it and was setting a code I sent it back under piers so called 1 year warrnty over a month later and several phone calls piers fiannally tells me its fixed and I owe him 600 dollars because my electronics were fried and his manufacter was not going to stand behind it. He tells me I know I said there was a 1 year warrnty but my guy isnt standing behind it so now there is no warrnty.

because of the wire being tapped?

Yeah They're Awsome

Just installed my Hot Rod VP on sunday. I fried my stock VP by tapping the pump wire so i ordered one from PDR. It has more getup than the 2x5 setting on the comp box did with the stock pump. If you need a new VP get one of these.

I dont have the waste gate restrictor fitting in either (only make 28 psi) cause the transmission is a time bomb which is slipping badley and will be getting swapped out Thurs. and Friday of next week for an ATS stage five. Cant wait for the 20psi launch. I was still able to beat a ford lightning (more like static spark) sunday in the 1/8 with only the comp on 5x5.

I had some injectors but i need turbo(s) first. 5x5 WILL fill four lanes of highway with smoke and the local PD dont like it :D

 1yr. warranty = 1yr. warranty

Well I couldnt help myself, had to order the Hot Rod pump. This little voice that sounds like its coming from my left shoulder wouldnt leave me alone until I ordered it. Thought all was well and then the voice started back up within minutes. Now I keep hearing twins, twins, twins... ... :D Oo.

I would be @$#% if my hot rod pump threw a code and had no warranty . Considering their price over a stock one their should be some benifit regarding reliability. I sympathize with ya ra. -Dave Hopefully mine keeps going.

WELL YES THE WIRE WAS TAPPED THATS WHAT WE ARE BUYING THEM FOR RIGHT!!!! ANYWAY PIERS TOLD ME IT DID NOT MATTER IF I TAPPED THE WIRE WHEN I BOUGHT THIS PUMP, BY THE WAY, I GOT THE SECOND PUMP SOLD AND O1HO GOT THE FIRST PUMP AND BOTH OF THEM ARE BAD. SO GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO OWNS OR IS THINKING OF PURCHASING A HR PUMP.

there are sources for vp44's that won't void the warranty with a pump tap. No, its not a hotrod vp but it will come with a 1 yr. warranty.

Didn't you guys put those pumps on in the middle of the summer? You used it for 6 months and had to pay $600 to get it fixed?:--)

Buy a electronic device from any supplier (auto, marine, business or home) and hook up something that everyone knows will void the warranty. (hence the saying "your own warranty station". Everyone knows this. So when it fries the electronics, take it back for evauation and see were it gets you. Most automotive dealers won't even take a second look at you if you try bringing a electronic part back if it is good or not. We did our best trying to push for warranty.

In this case the warranty at the time said "was for hard parts only" and yes, it is clear as mud now for those involved.

Your not involved Bob, so keep your pie hole shut.

I'm with Mark on this one!

On another note, this thread is almost as good as a transmission thread!

Now, is the Hot Rod pump Battering Ram has the same that people had trouble with or have the suppliers been switched? His thread made it sound like it's a new thing.
