But why would you think that would be the case? Even if the electronics were covered, there is no way to prove that the pump would've failed from an internal defect, or if it was a spike from the power enhacing box. I think this would fall under the "Abuse" part of the warranty disclaimer.

Secondly, I wouldn't be surprised if the pump failed mechanically and the warranty was denied because of the fuel enhancement box. Reason being that the pump was run dry from over-fueling, overheated, and caused the plungers to stress, and then caused mechanical failure. I mean it's hypothetical for sure, but c'mon. Let's be real here. I can come up with a number of reasons that a warranty can be denied all because of things the owner did, or didn't do.

The end point is that no matter what someone says the warranty is, be ready for a denial of warranty because there is no way an aftermarket manufacturer (or distributor) can possibly test and evaluate all possible operating conditions and equipment configurations and unforseen situations may be inflicted on the equipment (part) by the owner, that can cause failure. How can the manufacturer be held accountable for these situations that are out of his or her control?

So if you asked directly (as I know a member here did who is staying out of this did) if I pierce the pump wire will it still be under warranty? The Answer was YES. You would still be OK with paying $600? I wouldn’t.

Personally if they were going to VOID the warranty I would want to know from the manufacture what happened EXACTLY. (Especially being under the misconception that piercing the wire was ok)

True they can not test every possible operating condition, but I would think if you as a bussiness owner sold me something with a warranty. You would stand behind it or have a good reason as to why you decided not to cover it.

These are just my thoughts. .

Maybe you need to read the freaking posts better.

I posted what I was told "can you pierce the pump wire" The answer was "yes"

Now I'm told "yes that's okay, it'll still be under warranty, but only the mechanical, not the electronics.

As for posting about the $600. 00... ..... I think that's been gone over as well, he got charged $300. 00, not $600. 00... ... ... mind you that's all a mute point now anyway as Ray decided to put a stop payment on the check anyway. So Ray managed to **** all over me & still get his pump back for free anyway.

I'm done on this subject.

Dang you guys are really going, this is some crazy stuff!

I hope the modified parts on my truck don't fail with my little bit of power.

I too agree that this is getting out of control... So Im going to tread lightly here.

I was the first person to buy a hotrod pump(first to do dyno results on it also, as far as I know). When I puchased it I was told that it had a one year warrnty on hard parts and electric(wire taped). I was under the impression that PDR was the manufacture. I have low miles on this pump and started noticing a hp loss(on the dyno and seat of the pants) The truck or pump never threw any codes but as time progressed it got worse. I desided to send the pump back under warranty. I know that I had good fuel supply. Now I am wondering if I will have to pay to get my pump back?

When did you purchase your pump & is this the same pump as their selling now?

Piers how is it going not to good it sounds like. Just to set the story strait i spoke with you today and told you the reason i canceled the check (you left this part out) we agreed on 310 when we got the pump i was not there , a friend of mine was and she called and said ray UPS needs another 62 dollars for this pump what do you want to do?So i said go ahead and pay it i will call piers and see whats up. When i called you said let me check into that and i will get back with you(man you are slow time must be different up there). So 2 days later i still had not heard anything so i cancelled the check. Two more weeks went by still waiting.

Second issue if anyone pooded on anyone it was you i dont know how many times in the 6 weeks i called and you said you will have your pump in 2 or 3 days and nothing ever happened.

Then that one time you said its fixed and ready i said great ship it out. I called 01 ho told him he called talked to mark he said the pump stand is not fixed (all in the same 2 hours) let me guess the manufactuer lied to you again.

ps I did not get the pump for free i did not cancel the 62 dollar check and if i remember right 6 months ago my 1,600 dollar check cleared just fine(you forgot to mention that also piers).

By the way lets go ahead and tell everyone how you were trying to get your manufactor to split that 600 dollars with you (the same 600 me and you had already split)

600. 00

Rays part - 300. 00

Manufactors part - 300. 00

Piers part = 000. 00 (You are such a nice guy to split that with both of us)???????

Please folks, let's drop the inflammatory content. Drink a cool glass of iced tea and get back to the topic.

Piers Harry,

My son has a VP44 with the following symptom:

1. Will run as long as the throttle is tipped in.

2. Will kill the engine on Deceleration.

3. Sometimes it is idle, normally dies.

He has told me that for the first few minutes while things are cold "Phoenix AZ here" or about 70 deg F, that it will run fairly good but as soon as it warms up, the above symptoms come into play. He can drive to work at 5:00 a. m. but no go on the return at 3:00 pm and +100 local temps.

Anxiously awaiting reports from all on this.

Thanks Harry for your time.

John

Answer: For a guy that phoned every day, even when we told you we were not in control of your pump, why not make 1 more toll free call?

The reason I didn't worry to much about the $62. 00, which by the way was shipping second day air. . UPs's bill not mine, is I had a feeling you would not keep your end of the deal & put a stop payment on your check, which turned out to be right.

Answer: We would get a call to tell us the machine was up & running, only to have it go down again a couple hours later & yes, I was told your pump was ready, only to find out later, it was done, but not ready because it had not been on the test stand yet.

ps I did not get the pump for free i did not cancel the 62 dollar check and if i remember right 6 months ago my 1,600 dollar check cleared just fine(you forgot to mention that also piers).

Answer: I don't think that the fact that you paid the origanal bill was ever in question. But don't make it sound like the 62 bucks was my bill, UPS gets that money. I only agreed to pay shipping because i felt bad about how long this went on.

By the way lets go ahead and tell everyone how you were trying to get your manufactor to split that 600 dollars with you (the same 600 me and you had already split)

600. 00

Manufactors part - 300. 00

Piers part = 000. 00 (You are such a nice guy to split that with both of us)???????

Answer: Not quite true, Brady told me that 01HO's pump wasn't going to be warrantied, so I tried to get him to handle some of this.

Ray - $300. 00

01HO- $300. 00

Brady - $300. 00

Piers - $300. 00 + all the bs & toll free calls & shipping.

So how does it end up?

Ray-$62. 00 shipping

01HO- nothing, I intend on covering his shipping as well as the $600. 00

Brady - $0

Piers- $1200. 00 + a lot of bs

01Ho's pump will be the last pump coming from here, I'll square my bill with Brady & we're done. I don't do business like that.

So for anyone looking for a HOVP44, phone Brady direct at 1-800-955-0476

As for you Ray, not sure what you do for a living, but you should think about politics, they are always looking for a good spin doctor, & you seem to be good at that. Just remember, what comes around goes around

Piers i just did a search on monsterjob for Ray and found the perfect job. A natal proctologist of course, cause anybody who would try to get something solved this way is of course, a... . well you get the idea. Easiest solution, get a 12 valve truck, and I see how it is Piers you don't have time to critique my pics i sent but you have time to waste discussing this... :p

suck it up all you diesel boys... ... ... ... we still have cheaper power than all the gassers and YOU still complain... ..... any one complaining about the cost of diesel power needs to go spend some time with gasser boys that make real power and see how much they spend.

people who want power on the edge of the enveplope need to realize what the other guys go through... .

I have seen guys drop a brand new engine in one run and they dont complain on the internet this bad
